Rep. Foley

Rep. Foley from Florida resigned because of sending emails that were suggestive to legislative pages. That is just disgusting. It is not indicative of all representatives, just like it is not representative of all Republicans.

He made the correct decision to resign and leave Washington. That is unusual in this day and age. We are usually forced to listen to a representative try to stay on as long as possible. It was refreshing to have him leave quickly.

Congress needs to put safeguards in place to see that this does not happen again. Just like there should be safeguards in place so that an intern cannot have sexual relations with the President of the United States. Those are only appropriate steps to take to make sure that our children and young people are safe.

It is now important for the Republican party to select someone to replace Rep. Foley who is as clean as the wind driven snow. The person should be above reproach. It would be impossible to expect perfection, but they should find someone as close to that as possible. Anyone else and they can kiss that seat goodbye.

The Democrats actually have a worse problem in New Jersey. Senator Menendez is part of the culture of corruption that permeates New Jersey Democratic politics. All Democratic politicians in New Jersey are tainted by this stain until it gets removed. The Democrats had a chance to remove it with Bob Torricelli and blew it. They replaced him with another New Jersey pol Frank Lautenberg. They never learn. You have to find someone clean and pure from the stain to remove it. You do not find someone else with the same stain, just better hidden.

Politics at the national level is reaching all time lows. We had crooks and scoundrels in the past. There just seem to be more of them right now. There are some on both sides of the aisle. The Democrat crooks fight to stay on. The Republican crooks leave when found out. That is the difference in the crooks. They both have crooks. We need to clean out the entire nest of crooks and start anew. The problem is we cannot get rid of everyone. My Senator Kyl is one of the good guys. My Senator McCain is one of the crooks. I have one of both. I cannot throw out both. We need to pick and choose which ones to throw out. The problem is most people will not choose. We cannot throw all the bums out, some are good guys. The problem is how to tell the good guys from the bad guys. Currently, the system is my guy is good, your guy is bad.
