Election Day

Today is election day. I am apprehensive as to the outcome of the election. I get this way even if I know of a surety that my side will prevail big time everywhere. I am not so sure this year.

There are reports of heavy turnout everywhere. That bodes well for the Republicans. Republicans get out the vote better than Democrats. We use volunteers that believe in the cause. The Democrat party uses paid people to get out the vote. We have a more targeted approach to getting out the vote. They have a shotgun approach. We know who votes Republican and work to get that person to the polls. They have a demographic that they believe might vote Democratic and try to get them to the polls. They also use the dead voting block and the paid block of those they pick up in the streets of any city.

My Representative will be Jeff Flake. It would take a major upset for him to lose. My Senator will be Jon Kyl. He ran a smart campaign. He should easily defeat the defeatocrat Jim Pederson. I am sorry to say my governor will be a repeat of the disaster of the last four years. It is a wonder that people cannot see what damage she has done.

Nationally, I am unsure of how things are working out. I have faith that in the end the Republicans will hold the Senate and the House. I am reasonably sure that the Senate is secure. The House is less secure in my mind. All 435 House seats are up for election. When there are that many local elections at one time, it is almost impossible to tell what will happen overall. Will the Defeatocrats gain enough House seats to put a communist in charge? We will know in the morning. I still have faith. The polls do not look good. The exit polls did not come out looking good. Those were expected. It still does not help ones confidence to have all that go against you to still have confidence. Picking up Maryland's Senate seat would do wonders for my confidence. Time will be the judge of all.
