The Reverend Wright made an appearance on TV yesterday and spoke at the Press Club today. He is making his case that the critics are wrong and he is right. Since he has not modified his opinions at all, it is clear that his speaking up will severely damage Barack Obama right before the Super Delegates have to make their decision.
In his statements last week, the Reverend Wright said that his comments had been taken out of context. So, Hugh Hewitt, among others, played large portions of his sermons on the radio and put links to the sermons on their web sites. When heard in context the meaning is absolutely clear, the Reverend Wright is a racist and an America hater. How Obama could stay in that church for 20+ years is a mystery to me. Either Obama did not attend and did not read the bulletin or he must agree with what the Reverend Wright has said. The statements we have were made over a 5 year span. But it is clear from the reaction of the congregation that they firmly believe what Reverend Wright is saying. They clap and generally let the listener know that they agree with what the Reverend Wright says. It is not known whether Barack Obama is in the audience at any of these specific speeches, but he would have known about them. They were obviously something that was discussed among church members before and after church.
There has been some speculation that Reverend Wright is trying to sabotage the campaign of Barack Obama. If he does derail the campaign, he would be able to raise money and be the new Al Sharpton. That would make him independently wealthy. He could claim that America was still racist because it had rejected the candidacy of Barack Obama. Then he could whip the black population into frenzy over the racism and be a power player in the black movement. He could be trying to replace Al Sharpton or maybe even Jesse Jackson. Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson are race baiters. Reverend Wright could be trying to be a race baiter in their mold.
The Super Delegates have a real dilemma. If they reject Barack Obama and select Mrs. Clinton half the party will be unhappy and probably not vote or even worse, vote Republican. If they select Barack Obama they will be sure that the party will be going down to defeat in November. If they select a third party to come in and save the party, it would still make the players that support Barack Obama and Mrs. Clinton unhappy. They worked all this time for a candidate only to have the party say that they are going to bring in a third untried candidate to run for the Presidency. Choosing a candidate other than Obama could mean defeat for the Super Delegate that does not support him.
The Democrat party brought all this upon itself. They set up the primary system with the Super Delegates built into it. They did it to prevent another George McGovern. In other words, they did it to prevent the will of the people in selecting a candidate. This is the time for them to step up and do what they set up the Super Delegates to do. Unfortunately for the Super Delegates, Barack Obama is black. By being black he has dominated in the black voting block. The blacks that have been surveyed have said that they will either stay home or vote Republican if Barack Obama is not selected. That would be a real problem for the Democrats. They have to have the black voters voting for Democrat candidates. If they started to vote Republican, the Democrats would be a minority party real quick.
This is the party of big government. They cannot even run their own party without having major problems. How can any reasonable person expect the Democrats to run the health of the country any better than they have run the primary election? In other words, they have a disaster in the primaries. You would expect that if they ran health care that it would be a disaster. This is an object lesson on how good the party of big government is at running big government.
