Global warming believers have to come to grips with the fact that the planet has not warmed at all in over 6 years. The latest theory is that the oceans are cooler than expected and that is pulling the expected warming out of the air. They assure us that this cooling trend is only temporary.
When are global warming believers ever going to face facts. When their theory does not hold water, they just come up with some explanation that satisfies them. The fact that the explanation has no basis in fact does not bother them in the least. They were saying as late as last year that the warming in the oceans is causing the warming to increase. You have to remember that the cooling we are experiencing is despite the increase in the supposed greenhouse gas of Carbon Dioxide.
The complete theory behind global warming is wrong. Carbon dioxide is not the cause of the temperatures going up or down. Carbon dioxide is only 0.003% of the atmosphere. That is such a small percentage that it cannot be the driving cause of any temperature change. There are a lot of other candidates for the culprit. Carbon dioxide was never a good candidate. It was just one that was easily justified and controlled. The other candidates are not so easily controlled.
Water vapor would be the leading candidate for greenhouse gas. The global warming believers never talk about water vapor. Water vapor is the largest single factor of any of the potential greenhouse gasses. Why did the global warming people not use water vapor as the greenhouse gas? Because it is impossible to control how much water vapor is in the air. The oceans and lakes determine how much water vapor is in the air. Man has no contribution to water vapor at all, except for some minor locations. If you blame water vapor as the cause of the temperature going up, you cannot advocate government control over something you have no control over.
If you really want to locate the cause of global warming or cooling, just look up in the sky. The sun has more to do with whether the earth warms or cools than any greenhouse gas. If there are a lot of sun spots, the sun is hotter and the earth warms up. If there are few sun spots the sun is cooler and the earth cools down. In the past 6 years, there has only been one sun spot. In the previous 30 years, there were always 6-8 sun spots active at any given time. Of course the earth warmed during the past 30 years and of course it is cooling now.
Can you convince any global warming believer of the truth? Not right now. They are so sure that global warming is occurring that nothing can convince them of the truth. Even this cooling period is just a temporary setback. They do not see that their entire theory is wrong. We are not going to have a catastrophe in the next 50 years because of global warming. I do not know what the temperature will be like 50 years from now. I do know that the temperature will be changing constantly during that time period. There will be periods where the temperature will go up. There will be time periods where the temperature will go down. We may end up in a new ice age or we could boil away. I have no clue. I just know that the theory that man is causing global warming is completely false. This cooling period is proving it the longer it lasts.
