Last night, I read a speech Mitt Romney gave on religion. Again, Mitt Romney understands the role that religion needs to play in America.
In his major speech during the primaries, he was criticized because he did not include atheists in his talk. At the time, he did not think that atheists should be in a talk on religion. On second thought, he said that atheists should be included in any talk of religion, because they are kind of a non-religion. In my opinion, they are really another religion that has man as its God, instead of the real God.
In Romney’s talk, he said that religion and freedom go together. There are countries today that are free and non-religious, that is true. But, freedom came from a country that was/is free and is religious. Also, that non-religious country can only remain free as long as America is free. If America ever falls from the ranks of freedom, the world will lose the force for good in the world and eventually all freedom loving countries will be overtaken by evil.
In a related article, I read that a lady from a former communist country was saying that we are not as free as we think we are. We have warnings on everything. We are afraid of doing things because we are afraid of being sued. We have many people that receive money from the government to not work. All of those are things she left behind in her former communist state. She believes that we need to move to more freedom. She sees us slipping towards the restrictions of her former communist country of Estonia. I can whole heartedly agree with that assessment. The news reporter that interviewed the lady was shocked at the answers she was receiving. Obviously the news reporter has a leftist viewpoint. Anyone on the right can see that we have slipped a long way down the road to communism. We can still be saved, but only if we have the will to do so. Unfortunately, I do not see many people that have the will power to return to the days of freedom. Freedom also means that we would have the freedom to fail as well as succeed. People today want the security of not being able to fail.
If you put these two articles together, you see we have a problem. On the one hand, we need freedom to truly have religion. If religion is imposed, it is not truly religion. A true religion is people are free to choose the religion they want. If force is involved in any way, then that is not a true religion. You see this mainly in Islam. If someone wants to leave Islam and join another because they believe that the other religion is the true religion, the Muslims will want to kill them. In Muslim countries, it is against the law to leave the Islamic faith and join another. Any religion that decrees that your life is forfeit by leaving it is not one that has any credibility in my book. God does not force someone to believe in Him. God wants us to love Him, but will not force us to do so.
With our slipping towards communism, you can see that there is a problem on the horizon. Right now, atheists are trying to impose their religion on America by removing all references to God from the public square. The courts are going along with this farce because Thomas Jefferson wrote a letter to a church that stated there should be a wall of separation between religion and the government. There is nothing in the Constitution about a wall of separation, but this letter is all the atheists need to get judges to go along with their ideas. Soon religion itself will be against the law in the public square. Then, the atheists will have imposed their religion on America and we will have to worship at the altar of Humanism. This is all being done under the guise of not imposing religion on America. It is amazing how many people cannot see what is happening and take it to its logical conclusion.
