While we worried about AIG, terrorists plotted

For the past few weeks we have been concerned with the financial problems here in the US. It was a big problem and one we need to concern ourselves with. Unfortunately for me and a lot of the rest of you I am sure, we have almost forgotten about one of our main goals, which is to keep this country safe. In that regard, understanding the enemy is important.

This past weekend, Islamo-Fascist terrorists stormed a police training station with 700 police recruits in it. The pattern was similar to that used in Mumbai last summer, so the group is most likely the same. Or, it could be a group that copied the tactics of the group from last summer. The group that pulled this attack off is still unknown at the time of this writing. There was a lot of killing, all of the attackers were killed and some of the police recruits.

One difference between the attack in Pakistan at the police station and Mumbai is that in Mumbai the police are not armed, except for SWAT teams. In Pakistan, all police are heavily armed. They have to be heavily armed because of the terrorist threat that exists there all of the time. That arming of the police enabled the response to be instant and deadly. The attackers had an immediate advantage of surprise, but that quickly went away as the police went into action with greater numbers.

The news reports say that the attack was to show that Pakistan’s government does not have control over the country. I am not sure if that was the reason or not, but it does seem plausible. The terrorists in the form of the Taliban have taken the portion of Pakistan nearest the Afghanistan border. In that area, the Pakistani government has no authority other than in name. The Taliban holds complete control over that part of the country. It will be difficult for the Pakistani government to get control of that part of the country back unless they let us help them. They need a coordinated attack from Afghanistan and Pakistan to catch the Taliban in between. The terrain favors the Taliban in that it is very hilly and easy to hide large groups.

Now, I will give credit where credit is due. The current administration has sent in additional troops to Afghanistan. I remember 17,000 and recently they announced 4,000. Those additional troops will help to control the Taliban in Afghanistan. The problem is that they can still go over the line into Pakistan and be free from US interference. Obama needs to use some of that charm to get the Pakistan Government to allow US troops to follow Taliban terrorists into Pakistan so they can be destroyed. Pakistan cannot be a safe house or we cannot win in Afghanistan. Winning in Afghanistan is a difficult proposition in the best of times. Without being able to get the terrorists at any location will eliminate any possibility of winning.

We need to keep our eyes out on the world to see the enemy. We also need to keep a sharp eye on the Democrats as they also have their eye on the destruction of the US. Between the Islamo-Fascists and the Democrats, I am not sure which is worse. One wants to behead me and the other wants to make me a slave. I am not sure which is worse. If we do not look out for what is bad, we could get one or both.

We need to work on electing good strong CONSERVATIVE candidates that believe in the Constitution. We have too many elected politicians that have no idea what the Constitution is, except that we have one. That is how we get some of these stupid bills introduced and passed like the retroactive tax on the AIG bonuses. That is set out in the Constitution as illegal, yet our elected representatives in the House passed it. If we had a conservative majority that believed in the Constitution, that would never have happened and we would not have to worry about Democrats stealing our liberty any longer.
