Barack Obama has a vision of America that includes socialism. To implement that vision, he absolutely has to have socialized medicine. He desperately wants socialized medicine to happen within this year. The reason is that he can feel the window of opportunity closing and he wants to get it passed while he still can.
Nancy Pelosi thinks that socialized medicine would be a good thing, so she wants to please the President. She is even more ambitious than the President in that she wants the bill passed out of the House of Representatives by the end of July. It is now July 14. There is half a month left for Nancy Pelosi to accomplish her goal of destroying the American medical system. The big trick for Mrs. Pelosi is whether she can trick enough people to pass the bill out of the House.
Harry Reid is waiting over in the Senate to pass the socialized medicine bill as soon as it passes the House. Fortunately for him, the House has to act first. This keeps him out of the firing line for the time being. He can go on making stupid statements and nobody really takes him seriously. People are more concerned with what Nancy Pelosi and the House Democrats are saying.
As things stand right now, the Democrats are trying to fool people with the “public option” or government health insurance. The lie being told to the public is that the government health insurance is there to keep the private health insurance companies honest. The secondary lie is that the government health insurance will help to keep down the cost of the private health insurance. The real story is that the government health insurance is there to replace the private health insurance.
Barack Obama is going around telling people that people are not going to have to change health insurance carriers. That is true if you only look at the very short term. If you look even one year down the road, that statement begins to become a lie. After a few years, private health insurance is non-existent for almost all Americans, so the statement is a complete lie. At that point, the only place you can get health insurance is from the government and you have socialized medicine, also known as a one-payer system. That is the absolute worst kind of medical system to have. It is fine if you never get sick and have to see a doctor. If you ever see a doctor and need medical attention, you are in trouble because the medical care is not there.
There is a Rasmussen poll out today that is bad news for the Democrats. More people do not want government health insurance by 49-46. The people against government health insurance feel stronger against government health insurance than those that support government health insurance. People are moving away from the Democrat position. By the end of July, the numbers will be even stronger against government health insurance. That will cause the so-called Blue-Dog Democrats (the soft left) to pull out of the agreement with the hard left and vote against the bill. That would be enough to defeat it in the House. That would be a great day for America. Unfortunately for America, Nancy Pelosi and the hard left will come back with another incarnation of this disaster at another time. They will keep it up as long as they are in the majority. They need to be voted back into minority status as soon as possible to rid ourselves from this menace.
We have the best health care in the world. To be sure, it is not perfect. Anything designed and run by humans is not perfect. But, it is better than any other health care system out there in the world today. There are ways to reform our medical system that would improve it to allow more access and not take away the parts that give us greatness. Tweaking our great system would be better than throwing out our great system and starting over with third class parts. I have seen England’s up close. I know second class health care when I see it. We do not need to copy a second class system in an attempt at reform.
