What global warming hoax believers won’t do to make themselves feel important? Yesterday, two pseudo-scientists released a report that said that one in five people are disconnected from society because of the effects of global warming. I have heard a lot of poppycock in my time, but this ranks among the best. First, global warming is a hoax. Second, if people are feeling disconnected because of global warming, it has nothing to do with science.
Global warming is more of a religion than anything. Is there anything in science that asks if you believe it? The only things are evolution and global warming. Global warming is the obvious hoax. Evolution has many questions about it. People who believe in global warming and evolution are so insecure in their belief that they have to ask if people believe it. You don’t go around and ask if people believe in gravity. Gravity is a fact, like everything that is really science. Things in science are or are not. You don’t believe in them or not. You have to believe in them because they are real and demonstrated. Evolution and global warming come in as pseudo-science at best.
Evolution is something that is definitely true in the short term. It has been documented and observed. Evolution over the long-term is something that is questionable. That a single species changes over time is unquestioned. But, no-one has ever observed one species become another species. Even the finches of the Galapagos Islands are still finches, even if they do not act like them any longer. So, there is some science to back up evolution. The problem comes in trying to take what we know and applying it to the history of the world. We do not have enough evidence to prove that evolution is true.
Evolution breaks down the most when you try and explain how life began. There are scientific laws that say that life can only create life. In other words, something has to be alive to create life. If you put two rocks in a room and give them all the food, water and nutrients they need, after one year you still have two rocks. Put two rabbits of the opposite sex in that room with the same criteria and you have lots of rabbits after one year. That is what I mean by life creating life. Evolution tries to say that one time something not alive created something alive. That breaks too many hard scientific laws to be credible.
If you confine evolution to explaining how life changed over time, you can make a pretty good case that would be hard to defeat. When you take that case and try and explain how life began, your arguments for evolution get thrown out.
Global warming does not have even that bit of scientific background. There is absolutely no scientific evidence to show that global warming is occurring. The climate is always changing. The temperature is always going up or down. You cannot say that man caused it to do one or the other because it has always done that. The temperature has been higher than today. The temperature has been lower than today. Every part of the atmosphere has been higher or lower than it is today. If you had scientific data collected for a few thousand years, you might be able to build a case. We have only scientific data for the last 150 years that is anywhere near reliable and only the last 60 years could be considered reliable. That is too small of a data source to determine scientific validity.
In case anyone questions my analysis, I am a biologist. I worked for USDA for 20 years and have taught biology for the past 11 years. I do know what I am talking about. No, I am not some top level scientist with lots of research experience. I am just one of those that has to apply all the knowledge that those research scientists put out. I am the boots on the ground type of scientist, not some pointy headed think tank type. I have to put all their knowledge into a framework that makes sense in the real world. They only have to make sense in their isolated ivory tower. If it does not work on the ground, I am not credible. For the pointy-headed intellectual, it does not matter if what they say works or even makes sense. Just that they said it is all that counts.
