An early look at Obama's speech, 8 hrs early

This evening, Barack Obama will go to Congress and propose more of the same to get us out of the mess that the original same got us into. If that is confusing you are not alone. Albert Einstein defined mental illness as doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result. Barack Obama has a mental illness using Albert Einstein’s definition. The original stimulus did not work. The follow-up stimulus did not work and this stimulus will not work. We are more in debt that ever and the economy is basically stopped. What about that scenario does Obama not understand?

What he does not understand is how to get us out of the trouble our economy is in right now. He can only see the situation as a committed socialist. Using the socialist model, all of the stimulus programs should have been wildly successful. That they have been abject failures is a complete bewilderment to Obama. So, he figures that one more time will do the trick.

Fixing the economy is really rather simple. But, to fix the economy you have to give up some government power. That is extremely hard for a committed socialist like Obama. It is also difficult for the Democrat socialist party and even most in the Republican Party. For a Congressman to give up power means that they are less important to society.

Congress has a role to play in our Constitutional Republic. When they play within the boundary that the Constitution has set out, the economy runs on steroids. When the Congress decides that they want to be more important than the Constitution, the economy tanks and people are unemployed. The further outside the box the Congress goes determines the number of unemployed in this country.

The simple solution to our complex problem is to simplify the tax code. Everyone should pay some taxes in order to have a stake in the country. Right now about half of the people in the country do not pay taxes. They can vote to tax the living daylights out of the people who pay taxes and we cannot stop them. That means higher unemployment and a total disaster for the country.

The next thing that the government needs to do is to reduce the regulations that govern business. Too much of a company’s current time is spent meeting government regulations and not earning income. Some regulation is necessary to insure safety. A lot of regulation is not necessary. Most businesses will end up self-regulating because the market will determine what works and what does not.

The third thing is for Congress to repeal any law that is obviously unconstitutional. The first unconstitutional law that is destroying job growth right now is Obamacare. Get rid of Obamacare and you will see job growth skyrocket, even with all the other onerous regulations that are in place. Congress should go through the laws and repeal any law that is not specifically authorized by the Constitution.

The chances of any of my proposals making it into law are next to zero. Republicans and Democrats love power too much to relinquish it in order to save the country. That is a shame, because we would all be better off if they did. By all, I also mean Congress.

Tonight’s speech by Barack Obama will be one to miss. He will not say anything he has not said before. His stimulus plan is a loser from the start. It will not work and it costs too much. People would be much better served by tuning in the pre-game programs for the NFL game between the Packers and the Saints.
