Iran - the current dilemma, are we right or wrong???

There are two arguments about how Barack Obama is handling the situation in Iran. The administration argues that staying out of the problem completely is the correct course of action. They say that it gives the administration room to move regardless of who comes out on top after the situation calms down. The other side argues that the protesters need support wherever they can get it. The President of the United States represents the “Free World” and as its representative should speak out for freedom whenever and wherever it shows its head.

Most political commentators on the left agree with the administration that the best course of action is to do nothing. Since the commentators on the left have never disagreed with the administration on anything, that stance comes as absolutely no surprise at all. It would come as a shock if one commentator on the left made a comment that was in any way critical of the administration on anything.

Pat Buchanan is one of the very few commentators on the right that says that Barack Obama is doing the right thing. Since I frequently disagree with most of what Pat Buchanan says in recent years, I have a problem with his arguments.

The vast majority of the commentators on the right are saying that Barack Obama is making a mistake in his do-nothing stance towards the protestors in Iran. They say that Obama should speak out in favor of treating the protestors with respect. If the rulers in Iran treated the protestors with respect, the next step would be to replace the rulers in Iran and they know that. President Sarkozy of France has spoken out forcefully in favor of the protestors. Since the other western leaders are afraid to say anything, he is taking the lead in this matter. Somebody on the right must take the right stance. President Sarkozy of France feels that this is the right time to take the proper stance. This principled stance will gain him standing in the court of world opinion.

A woman was killed by the Iranian Revolutionary Guard in the last couple of days. The video clip has been put on You-Tube for the world to see. I have not seen it yet, but have heard a description of what the clip shows. Shooting this young woman may be the major mistake that does in the rulers of Iran. In situations like this it just takes one stupid move like shooting a woman or a child to turn public opinion against you. In this case, general public opinion was against them around the world. In Muslim countries it was split. Leaders of most countries have stayed silent up until this shooting. I would expect that world leaders would start to turn against the Iranian rulers over the handling of this killing by the Revolutionary Guards. If that happens, the change in leadership in Iran will happen in short order. It may take a few weeks or months, but it will happen within the next year if the world leaders turn against the Iranian leadership.

I would love to see the Iranian revolution end soon. That would greatly reduce the chance of a world conflagration. They are on the verge of a nuclear bomb and ending their rule would greatly derail that effort. I do not see the new rulers in Iran making the same effort to get a nuclear bomb as the current rulers. They might pursue the bomb, but at this point the opposition party seems reasonable and someone you can work with. I pray that the nuclear ambitions of Iran get reduced by removing these radical Mullahs’s from the world stage.

Iran is important - where is our President?

Iran held elections last week. The election was supposed to be close between the mad Mullah’s man and the challenger. After the election was held, the results were announced. The mad Mullah’s said that their mad had received 66.7% of the vote. The people that voted knew that result was wrong, so rioting started. The mad Mullah’s cracked down with violence. The situation is volatile. It could go either way. The Mullah’s will most likely prevail because they have the army. But if the rioters convince the army that they are right, the Mullah’s could be in trouble.

An interesting development has taken place in the last 24 hours; the mad Mullah’s have announced that they will review the results of the election. That is the first time that they have reversed themselves since taking power in 1979. That is a big development. Their air of infallibility has been snapped. That could be a sign of better things to come. Or it could just be a minor blip on the radar.

Iran is important because they have enormous amounts of oil. Nobody is getting their oil because of the embargo that was put on after the Mullah’s took over in 1979. The Mullah’s are also seeking to get nuclear power. They say it is so they can have nuclear power plants. Since they have more oil than almost anywhere else in the world, which would be a rather thin argument. Their real goal is undoubtedly to produce nuclear weapons. They are probably close to doing just that.

Iran has pledged to wipe Israel off of the map, if they get a chance. Since they do not border Israel their opportunity is rather limited. They cannot wage a land war as they would have to travel across other countries. That would be detected by those countries and/or Israel and stopped. An air war would be impractical as their air force is far below Israel’s in capability. Their only chance to wipe Israel off of the map would be to drop a nuclear bomb on Israel. They have the missiles to deliver the bomb. All they need is the bomb to deliver and they can make good on their promise. That is why Iran is important to the world. Bombing Israel would start a world war that could have a devastating impact.

Our illustrious President is busy pretending that nothing is happening in the Middle East. He goes to Cairo and talks to moderate Muslims. Moderate Muslims might exist in large numbers, but they are ineffective as a group. They are easily intimidated and ruled by small numbers of Islamo-Fascists. That means that even though there may be large numbers of moderate Muslims, they effectively are radical Muslims when taken as groups in their countries. There are no Muslim Democracies, except for Iraq and Afghanistan. Iraq and Afghanistan are Democracies only because we imposed democratic rule. The other countries are despotic at best.

The people rioting in Iran need the support of America. Barack Obama needs to speak out in their support. So far, he has remained silent. The entire administration has said nothing about Iran. It would seem that Iran does not exist as far as our administration is concerned. I am not sure that even with our support the rioters could pull off the overthrow of the Mullah’s, but we have to try. If we can get Iran in the hands of someone who actually cares if he lives or dies would be a real plus. Right now, the Mullah’s do not care whether the world ends or not. That makes them truly scary. Hitler and Stalin were scary people, but they both did not want to die. These Mullah’s do not care and that makes them truly scary.

America needs to support those who seek to achieve the goal of independence from tyranny. Unfortunately, our country is sprinting down the path toward tyranny faster than I ever thought possible. Pretty soon, we may be the ones rioting and hoping that some other country sees our plight. Let’s not lose sight of the goal of independence from tyranny. That is what our Founders did and that is what we should also do. I support that goal from the bottom of my heart and with every fiber of my being. I support freedom wherever I find it.

Obama golfs while the world burns

The Gargoyle of North Korea is at it again. He set of a nuclear explosion the size of Hiroshima and tested some missiles. He shot off a long range missile on Saturday and two short range missiles on Sunday. The White House reacted with a stern note that it was concerned about the actions of North Korea. The UN reacted by saying they needed a resolution condemning North Korea. All the while, North Korea is continuing on its path to build a nuclear bomb and a delivery system. Our President decided it was a great time to play golf.

The time for Barack Obama to have stopped North Korea was when he first took office. North Korea was set to shoot off a missile. Obama decided to let them shoot off the missile and do nothing, not even track it. The missile fizzled and harmlessly fell into the sea. The Gargoyle learned that Obama will do nothing to stop him from obtaining a bomb and a functioning missile system.

Iran was watching and learned the same lesson. That is why they have stepped up their progress towards having a nuclear bomb and missiles to deliver it. They also are strengthening their presence in the straights of Hormuz for the first time, ever. That is a particularly dangerous development. Most of the world’s oil is shipped out through the straights of Hormuz. If Iran puts a blockade in the straights, the world will starve from lack of oil in no time flat.

Our President thinks that talking to these tyrants is going to make everything perfect. He does not seem to understand that he is dealing with evil people. Evil people cannot be talked to. They understand only one thing, strength. If you show any weakness, they will exploit it. Obama showed weakness in not taking out the missile that North Korea shot off at the beginning of his Presidency. He and the country will pay dearly for that show of weakness for the next four years.

What Obama should have done with the missile from North Korea was take it out on the launching pad. That way the North Koreans learn some important lessons. First that our military can and will hit them without warning whenever and wherever we want. Second, that we will not let them develop weapons to strike at their neighbors. The rest of the evil people in the world would also have learned the same lessons and would have kept a low profile over the next four years. Not taking out the missile on the launching pad, Obama should have shot the missile out of the sky. That would have shown much the same thing as blowing up the launching pad. The only drawback here is that North Korea would have obtained some technical information from the missile. Blowing up the launch pad would not have given them any data to work with.

Right now, we have a big problem with North Korea. They definitely have the capability to build and use a nuclear bomb. Their only problem is the delivery system. With each launch of a missile, they are getting valuable data to get closer to the goal of a delivery system. I am not sure whether their goal is to just threaten Japan or to threaten us, Japan would be easier to reach than we would. The first missile the Gargoyle tested was supposed to have been capable of reaching California. These later tests were on missiles that could have reached Japan. In any event, the more time that we give North Korea, the closer they get to perfect a delivery system that will reach us in the mainland US. At that point, we have a major problem and it all could have been avoided.

Iran is following much the same path as North Korea. They are further behind. Israel is the goal for Iran. Obama has told Israel that they should commit suicide and allow Palestinians into the country. Israel basically told Obama to take a hike. I look for Israel to make some move in the near future when they feel things are at a point that they have to act or die. Right now, they still have some time to plan and prepare. Their time for action will come very soon. They cannot count on help from the United States. There are too many advisors in the Obama administration that would love to see Israel disappear for the US to quickly act to help Israel. Israel is alone in this one.

As events unfold since January 20, 2009, we see that we definitely made a mistake in November. Obama is not up to being President. His advisors are not up to advising. The recession has gotten worse. The tin pot dictators have become braver. Nothing is better today than it was on January 20, 2009. That is a terrible thing to say, but it is true.

Obama knows little to nothing about foreign policy, I hope not many die because of it

We are now starting to reap the reward of having a President who has no foreign policy experience and who has advisers who have even less experience. Barack Obama gave his first interview after taking office to an Arab TV network rather than an American TV network. Now, this would not be bad if he had taken a stance toward terrorism like George W. Bush. He took the attitude of most liberals which is: “can’t we all get along?”

Arabs are not likely to get along with someone who asks them the question, can’t we all get along? They believe that they can get along with someone who is strong. They will step on someone who they believe is weak. Someone who asks the question can’t we all get along; will find himself run over by terrorists.

Obama went on the network and said he had lived in Muslim countries and had Muslim relatives. He also said that there is little difference between good people around the world. All good people want the best for their families and friends. All good people want to live in peace and friendship. The problem with that message is he is dealing with a people that are taught from birth that all infidels (every non-Muslim is an infidel) are not worthy to live. This is especially true of the truly despicable infidels called Jews, as far as Muslims are concerned. People taught like this are not likely to get along with you unless they believe you will take off their head if they get out of line. If they believe you will not take off their head, they will take off your head.

The midget from Iran said that as soon as Iran gets a nuclear device he will wipe Israel off of the map. He wants to start a nuclear war. This nuclear war will bring in the 12th Imam who will institute Islam worldwide. The rulers of Iran do not care if they live or die. They believe in this 12th Imam and his ability to bring about Muslim rule. They also believe that the 12th Imam has to come into power through fire. Their interpretation of that prophecy is that the fire spoken about is nuclear fire. This is crazy talk. It is also the kind of people that will not listen to a President who is trying to talk “nice”. They will ignore the nice talk and start shooting.

Obama also believes that the center of the war against Islamo-Fascism is in Afghanistan. He has started moving troops from Iraq to Afghanistan to fight along the border with Pakistan. Afghanistan is the place that God designed where the powerful are brought to their knees. The British found out about that in the 19th century. The Russians found out about that in the 1980’s. Barack Obama is about to find out about that in 2009-2011. He will find out that we cannot put enough troops to control the area; there are too many valleys to hide the guerillas. The best way to fight in this region is how we have been fighting in this region, put in Special Forces to help the local War Lords control different areas. This keeps the truly bad guys, the Taliban, out of Afghanistan for the most part. We should not worry too much about who rules in Afghanistan as we cannot prop up any ruler there for very long. We should let the local people control who rules the country. If having a divided rule among many war lords is the way the Afghanistan people choose to be ruled, then so what. We should not try to be King Makers.

Barack Obama has a lot to learn about the world and how it works. The problem is he needs to have learned it by the time he was put in office. He is showing the world that he is not ready to lead. How many good Americans will die because this man is not ready is not known at this time, but many will die. I hope that it is very few, but I could easily be wrong. We voted this man into office, now we get to pay the price for his education. Unfortunately, the price is American blood.
