Republican Debate Fallout

The uproar over the planting of questions in the Republican You Tube debate this week has not died down. CNN is trying to get the egg off of their faces. They are having a difficult time as they were caught not doing their homework. Even a simple background check on the people posing the questions would have turned up the planting of questions. CNN did not do that. They only looked to see if the people donated money to a cause or not. That, obviously, was not enough.

The result of the planted questions is that the Republicans focused on what the Democrats wanted the Republicans to be talking about. That is things that would make them look stupid or ignorant. The candidates did not have the chance to debate over the policy towards radical Islam or Iran. They were talking about the Confederate flag or the Bible.

The Confederate flag question would have been better posed to the Democrats. Democrats were slave owners. Democrats were the segregationists that kept blacks down for almost 100 years. Democrats did not vote a majority of their caucus in support of the voting rights act of 1964. Democrats still focus on ways to keep blacks in second class jobs and in second class positions. Just look at where blacks are appointed to Democrat cabinets, lower ranked cabinet positions. In Republican cabinets, they are appointed to powerful and important positions. Yet, Republicans are perceived as the party of segregation. It boggles the mind what the Democrats are able to get away with.

There has to be a better way of selecting questions for debates. When questions are posed by “journalists” you get Democrat questions. When questions are posed by “ordinary” people, you get Democrat operatives disguised as real people asking Democrat questions. Maybe we should go back to the debate standard of the Lincoln/Douglas debates. They had one person talk for a time, then the other would respond and then the first person would have the final say. That worked great for them. It would eliminate the filtering of the Democrat Party in Republican debates. Of course, with a large number of candidates it would not work very well.

It is about time to start reducing the number of candidates at these debates, anyway. There are so many candidates that the ones with a realistic chance cannot get their message out. The candidates have to give time to someone who has no chance. The Republican debates should be cut down to five candidates: Mitt Romney, Rudy Giuliani, Fred Thompson, John McCain and Mike Huckabee. The real race is between Mitt Romney and Rudy Giuliani. The others may have a chance in a state or two, but not overall. Either Rudy or Mitt will win the nomination. If Huckabee wins Iowa, Rudy has an excellent chance of winning. If Mitt wins in Iowa, New Hampshire, South Carolina, Michigan and Nevada, Rudy’s chance of winning the nomination is very low.

Huckabee is running to be Rudy Giuliani’s running mate. He is sounding more and more like that all the time. The fact that Rudy Giuliani is not attacking him at all is a good indication that they have come to some sort of agreement on that arrangement.

John McCain is running to be Secretary of Defense. He has no shot at being President. He would make an excellent Secretary of Defense.

Fred Thompson’s campaign is on life support. He only has a realistic shot at winning anything is in the South Carolina primary. Everywhere else, he is sinking like a stone.

My bets are still with Mitt Romney. He may have fallen into second in Iowa, but Huckabee has not had any negative press. That has just started to happen. The first negative stories appeared this week. My guess is that Huckabee will sink down to second or third within a couple of weeks. His support is thin and new. Romney’s support is solid and growing.

Overall I think Romney will win it all. Giuliani has picked the wrong strategy. You cannot lose all the early states and expect to be the nominee. People like a winner. If Romney sweeps all the early states, he will win a majority if not all the Super Tuesday states. The knockout will come in the March primaries.

Republican (Democrat?) Debate

The Republican Presidential hopefuls held another debate last night. This one was different in that most of the questions came from a pool of questions submitted through “You Tube”. Those are video questions from “real” people. CNN moderated the debate and selected the questions after vetting them to make sure no ringers get in.

CNN did a very poor job of vetting the questions. Most of the questions were from Democrat activists. The activists were either paid or volunteer staff for the three main contenders for the Democrat nomination for President. This seems fishy to me. CNN had two to three months to check out these people and could not find out whether they worked for Democrats. The internet conservatives spent minutes and found out who they worked for. CNN today is saying that they did not know that some of them were activists.

This is wrong. Republicans do not submit questions for Democrat debates. Democrats should not submit questions for Republican debates. As a result, the debate focused on Democrat issues, not Republican ones. When they got near Republican issues, they were phrased in such a way as to make the Republicans look bad. CNN should have been able to tell a biased question from a real question. They seem to be unable to tell the difference. It is probably because in their mind the Democrat biased questions were the real ones and the real questions were the biased ones. That is probably why there were so many biased questions and so few real questions.

There were a few good things that came out in the debate. There are signs that the Giuliani campaign is having trouble. Rudy Giuliani accused Mitt Romney of hiring illegal aliens. Mitt Romney fired back that he ran large companies. He had people that did the hiring and firing. They could have made mistakes and hired illegal aliens. But, his record as Governor shows his true intent with regard to illegal aliens. He stood tough against giving benefits to illegal aliens while Governor of Massachusetts. Rudy mildly came back with providing a sanctuary mansion where illegal aliens could live in peace with everyone. Rudy really shot himself in the foot with that one.

Another good moment in the debate came with Ron Paul and John McCain. Ron Paul had gone off about the war against Islamo-Fascism being illegal. John McCain came back with a comment that he was tired of having Ron Paul tear down our brave men and women in uniform. They are out there defending our freedom and deserve our praise. John McCain got some good points on that one.

Ron Paul was made to look like a fringe candidate by CNN. He had to stand there for a long time while others answered questions. Then when he did get a question, it was a silly one. All candidates deserve our respect and honor. Even though I think that Ron Paul’s campaign is hurting the Republican Party, I think he deserves our respect.

Who won the debate? Overall, I think that Mitt Romney came off the best. He tried to connect with voters by referring to how they would deal with things. That connection goes a long way to winning debates. The others had strong points and weak points. Rudy had to be the second best, but he was weak on immigration. He also showed his colors by not criticizing Mike Huckabee. He criticized almost everyone else. That shows that a vote for Mike Huckabee is a vote for Rudy Giuliani. It also shows that Mike Huckabee is trying to be Rudy Giuliani’s Vice-Presidential candidate.

Mike Huckabee seems to have stopped trying to win the Presidential nomination. He is acting like Richardson in the Democrat ranks. Both are criticizing everyone except for the person that they want to run with. The results to me are very telling. I hope that those that support Mike Huckabee see what he is doing. If I can see it, others must be able to see it. But, when you support someone you do tend to be blind and deaf when it comes to criticizing your candidate. I must confess that I do the same myself.

Clinton taking on water - Great!!!

Recent reports have the dragon lady falling from her insurmountable lead into ties with Obama and/or Edwards in Iowa and New Hampshire. That has to have the Clinton war machine worried. She has gone from a lock on the nomination to one of the contenders. If she is just one of the contenders, she could easily be knocked off early.

What will the Clinton war machine do about her falling numbers? She did cause the falling numbers herself when she flubbed a simple question and tried to get on both sides of the question. Then her campaign tried to make sure that the questions were known in advance, so they put staff people in the audience to ask the questions. Both episodes have made her campaign take on water. Obama has smelled defeat in her campaign and is starting to talk tough. That is also causing her campaign to hemorrhage.

Now, even the news media is starting to put articles in that are less than flattering to Mrs. Clinton. The Times of London published a rumor that Mrs. Clinton is in a homosexual relationship with an aide. Whether it is true or not is not the question. That the paper had the intestinal fortitude to publish the article was enough to cause people to gasp. She did not need that kind of thing published at this time. If she was high up in the polls, she could laugh this kind of thing off and nothing would happen to her support. With her support lagging anyway, this kind of thing will further weaken her support among those with standards.

For the country this is a good thing. The worst candidate the country could have as President is Mrs. Bill Clinton. She would be the last President elected in a recognizable United States. Obama and Edwards are not much better, but they are better. They do not have the ability to push through some of the completely stupid things that she could push through.

I must confess it would be easier to run against the dragon lady than either Obama or Edwards. She gets the blood moving for conservatives. Obama and Edwards do not cause the blood to boil to quite the extent. They both would be bad, but both would be a vast improvement over Mrs. Bill Clinton.

Defeating Mrs. Bill Clinton at any level is a great thing for the United States. If she loses the Democrat nomination, the country wins. If she wins the Democrat nomination for President, the country loses. It still would have a chance to win in the general election, but that is really pushing it. I just want to see her defeated at any level and never to rise again. Her idea to turn this country into a rerun of the Soviet Union is too much for me to bear.

She would say that she is not trying to make this a rerun of the Soviet Union. That is technically true, until you look at what she says she wants to do. If you compare her ideas of what she wants to do to America with what the Soviet Union did to Russia, you would find that they were eerily similar. There would be minor differences due to different time periods, but overall the effects would be the same. The agencies would have different names, but the same tasks.

That is why I support Mitt Romney. His view of what America can be is great. He truly believes that America is great and can be greater. His bright view of America and her future is what will sell to America and allow him to win the nomination and the general election.

Hurricane Forecasters wake up

The National Hurricane Center is having a problem with their forecasting. They have been wrong every year since the hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans. How do they explain the fact that they forecast a big year for hurricanes and have a mild or normal year for hurricanes?

They have finally decided to wise up. They have been blindly following the lead of NASA. NASA is the leader in the charge for global warming. The National Hurricane Center has a reputation that they have to maintain for integrity and accuracy. That reputation has been severely tested since they bought into NASA’s idea that global warming was going to increase hurricanes. They have not been just wrong, they have been spectacularly wrong. That does not increase anyone’s faith that they know what they are doing.

So, this year, The National Hurricane Center is divorcing them from NASA and going on their own. They have decided to go back to the way they predicted hurricanes pre-Katrina. Their accuracy rate was much higher and when they were off, it was pretty close.

All of this makes me wonder why anyone would believe in global warming. There is no scientific evidence that man is causing global warming. The global warming that has been detected is less than one degree centigrade. The temperatures were warmer one thousand years ago, before the invention of the industrial revolution.

When one looks at the pollution that man is putting into the environment, it only amounts to less than 3%. If less than 3% is causing all the problems, what about the 97%? Shouldn’t we be doing something about the 97% instead of worrying about the 3%?

To the people that believe in man caused global warming, we should only concern ourselves with the man caused portion of the pollution. Why? Well, by concentrating on the man caused portion, it gives government control over people’s lives. When the government controls the way people live, everything will be great. The Soviet Union was a great place, wasn’t it? I think the way people live in the US is much better than the way people lived in the old Soviet Union. Freedom is a wonderful thing for individuals. It is a bad thing for governments. Governments like to control as much as they can. The more government controls, the more security the government has.

Unfortunately for the socialists, freedom is better than slavery. All totalitarian governments will fall in time. When they do, the leaders are almost invariably executed by the people that overthrow them. That is a bad way to live. It is better to peacefully transfer power to the next group and everyone live in freedom. Socialists never learn that lesson. They always want more control. They always try to make their slavery sound like it is wonderful. It is wonderful until you are actually living in the hell that is socialism. Socialist countries build walls to keep people in. Free countries have to build walls to keep people from sneaking in uninvited. That is a big difference. Nobody flees to a socialist country. They always flee to a free country. When the US becomes socialist under Mrs. Bill Clinton, the last flame of freedom will have been extinguished.

The Huckabee/McCain Conundrum

As Hugh Hewitt has been saying for a long time, it is a two man race for the Republican nomination. The race is between Rudy Giuliani and Mitt Romney. Rudy will be the nominee, unless the forces that do not want Rudy Giuliani unite behind Mitt Romney. Rudy is not the first choice of over 50% of the Republican primary voters. There may be more than 50% of the Republican primary voters who are willing to settle for Rudy Giuliani. That is not the same thing.

Mike Huckabee is putting on a rally in Iowa right now. That is just for show. The people that would really like Rudy Giuliani have decided to support Huckabee. By supporting Huckabee, they hurt Romney. By hurting Romney, they help Rudy Giuliani. Huckabee has no chance to be selected as the Republican nominee.

The same can be said of John McCain in New Hampshire. A vote for John McCain is a vote that Rudy Giuliani cannot get. Since both of them are fighting for the same voters, the chance that John McCain could derail Rudy Giuliani is interesting.

Neither John McCain nor Mike Huckabee has a chance to be selected to represent the Republican Party as its nominee. Mike Huckabee is sounding more and more like he is running to be the Vice-Presidential pick for Rudy Giuliani. He would give Rudy points where Rudy is weakest, with the evangelical community. He is also for gun control and giving rights to illegal immigrants. On both of those issues he is in step with Rudy Giuliani. It is his right to life stance that Rudy would need to have any chance of pulling in the values voters that make up the largest single group in the Republican primaries.

John McCain has no chance to be either a Presidential pick or a Vice-Presidential pick. He has made a point of being on the wrong side of many issues important to Republicans. He can do well where independents and Democrats get to vote in the Republican primaries, but in Republican only primaries, he stands no chance.

Since the race is really Rudy Giuliani’s to lose, it is interesting to see that he has chosen not to really compete in the early states. He is banking on his name recognition to get him the majority of the states in the Super Tuesday vote. He may be right, but it just sounds wrong. The nominee should be trying to win every state. They should not concede one state or another. Mitt Romney is committed to work hard in every state. Mike Huckabee is only working in Iowa and New Hampshire. He has almost given up on New Hampshire and just stayed in Iowa. He has no campaign outside of Iowa and New Hampshire. John McCain is competing everywhere. His campaign is on life support everywhere there are Republicans. Fred Thompson’s campaign has degenerated to pointing fingers at one thing or another that has kept him from gaining traction. He is falling everywhere. Ron Paul has fanatic followers. They consistently vote him the top person in on-line polls. He does not register much in the way of support in any other poll, however. It is just best to think of him as an oddity.

How will it all play out? I still think that Romney will take Iowa, New Hampshire, South Carolina and Michigan. All those are before Super Tuesday. With all those wins, he has some momentum on his side. He should be able to get at least half of the delegates on Super Tuesday. With all that, he should be able to put Rudy Giuliani away on March 4.

On the Democrat side things are getting dicey for Mrs. Clinton. She is in a three way tie for the lead in Iowa and in second in New Hampshire. She cannot lose both states and win the nomination. I still think she will pull it out. She has her lie squad out searching out truth and turning it into a lie. The lie squad is also putting out lies then denying that they put out the lie. The lie squad is good. The bad part is that people know about the lie squad and people know what they do. The lie squad has no credibility. They can say whatever they want and not be believed by the majority of the people in the country. Only the most ardent Democrats will believe the lie squad when they put out their lies. They have to hide what Mrs. Clinton believes and what she will do.

In the end the US will choose between the dark, squalid future of Mrs. Clinton and the bright future of Mitt Romney. The US almost always chooses the light over the dark. I sincerely hope that the US has not fallen so far as to believe in lies.

Giving Thanks at Thanksgiving

At this time of thanksgiving, I am thankful for many things. Most of all, I am thankful for my family. I was blessed with 7 children. After we had three boys naturally, we were told we could have no more children. We decided to adopt and were blessed with three girls and one boy. One of the blessings of adopting was the fact that the adopted children all came from different racial groups. That meant that my children could not develop racial stereotypes. If they did, they had a brother or sister that was that racial group. As a result, my children have brought home friends of every color. That has been a real blessing. We have gotten many strange looks from people but overall it has been good.

My children tell stories of how their friends expect us to be the same race as they are. So, when their friends come over for the first time, they are surprised to find a big white guy opening the door. They were expecting someone who was, black, Hispanic, etc. It has been told and retold of their friend’s reaction to having me open the door.

I am also thankful that my children are starting families. I have 5 granddaughters and 3 grandsons. We are raising one of the granddaughters as one of our daughters. She knows we are her grandparents, yet she calls us mom and dad. The others are all being raised by their parents. My only regret is that my sons have not have had any sons. That means that the Revie name will not continue past my grandchildren’s generation, unless my sons have more children that are boys. Right now, that does not look too promising. My adopted son is the most likely to have another child. He tells me that it will be a son. He has been wrong twice, we shall see.

I am also thankful to be born in America. I have had wonderful opportunities to do what I wanted to do and go where I wanted to go. I have not been everywhere I wanted to go, but I am content that I could have if I could have afforded it.

I had the opportunity to serve my church for two years in England. I told the people there that it was to penance for my ancestors. They were Vikings and Scots. The Vikings and Scots raided and killed a lot of people in England. My time in England was wonderful. I came to love the English people. I also came to understand English humor and English Football (soccer). That has enriched my life and the life of my family for the past 35 years.

I have a good education. I am smart enough to have been educated in almost any society. But, here I could choose for myself what I wanted to study. The study in college, lead me to lead a life that was full and eventful. My work involved helping farmers and ranchers. I was outside for much of the time. I enjoy being outside. I also love rural areas with lots of open space. I had that for much of my working career. That was enjoyable and fulfilling.

I believe in the American ideals of individualism and freedom. I object when people try to take away my freedom and the freedom of my children and grandchildren. I did not serve in the military. I did go down to enlist. My draft number was 28. The government was drafting people up to about 180. I knew I would be drafted and be a private in the Army. I preferred being an officer like my father. During the enlistment I took a written test and got the highest score that day. That would put me on the short list to be an officer. I then took the physical and complained about my knees hurting. I had played a basketball game the night before and they hurt a lot. The doctor took an X-Ray of my knees and told me I would have them operated on within 10 years. He was close to being right. I had my first knee operation 11 years later. I have had 3 operations on my left knee and one on my right. The Army reclassified me as 1-Y. As a 1-Y, the Army did not want me to enlist. I could have been drafted, but only as office help. Later they reclassified all 1-Y people as 4-F. During that time I was in England serving a mission for my church and was 4-D (minister’s deferment). When I got home, the draft board never reclassified me from 4-D to 4-F.

I am also thankful that we have freedom of religion in this country. I am thankful that I have the opportunity to worship as I choose and others have the same opportunity. I do understand that Democrats and liberals are working to take that away. The Islamo-Fascists want everyone to be Muslim or dead. But for now, I am free to worship as I choose and I am taking full advantage of that right.

Tomorrow is Thanksgiving and we will be having family over for Turkey and football. The house will be full of people so I will not be anywhere near a computer for the holiday. Enjoy your Thanksgiving holiday and worship as you choose.

LOST Treaty should be LOST

The Law of the Sea Treaty has been considered by the Senate since the days of Ronald Reagan. From that day to now, the treaty has not been able to muster a majority vote to become law. That streak is in danger of ending in this Congress with this Senate lead by Dingy Harry Reid.

The Law of the Sea Treaty or LOST is a treaty to control the use of the oceans of the world. It establishes rules on how the oceans may be used. It also establishes the ability of the UN to tax any company or country that uses any resource from the sea. It also controls the land that touches the sea. That is bad enough, but it gets worse. When a dispute arises the two countries each pick a delegate to the negotiating table. The two delegates then pick a third party. That committee will have full authority over the dispute and can do almost anything to any country that is in violation. It is a litigator’s dream and any country’s nightmare.

Since Ronald Reagan, almost all Republicans have voted no on the treaty. A few liberal Republicans have voted for it from time to time. The ones most likely are the two from Maine and Arlen Specter from Pennsylvania. Democrats almost universally like the treaty. They like the treaty because it establishes the United Nations as the body above the United States in any dispute. This would give them cover when they do not act in response to any aggression. Since the Democrats control this Senate, the majority will most likely vote for the LOST Treaty. It needs 60 votes for passage. I am not sure if they have the 60 votes. I know they do not have it without Republicans voting for it.

The worst thing the treaty would do to us is control our Navy. If we had a dispute overseas, the Navy could not send a warship to help control the situation. The treaty forbids any country from using the sea in a warlike fashion. Of course it would only apply to the United States. Any other country could get away with using the sea for war. We would be hamstrung by public opinion and not be able to respond.

The second worst thing the treaty would do is give the UN taxing authority within the United States. That would enable the UN to start transferring money from the US to third world countries. We would have astronomically high taxes and have to grin and bear it. It would destroy the United States economy. There is no way we could allow the UN to institute taxes within the United States, even if the company were operating in coastal waters.

I am thankful that my state has two Republican Senators, Kyl and McCain. Kyl is against the LOST treaty. McCain would have to vote against the treaty if he has any chance of being nominated as President. If McCain gets defeated in the primaries, who knows what his opinion will be in the LOST treaty. I would think that the restrictions on the US Navy would be enough to keep a former Navy officer in line against the treaty. That would be the expected thing to do. McCain does not always do the expected thing. He likes to play the part of the maverick. If he does on this issue, he could help destroy the country he helped defend while in the Navy. The Democrats do not care about the country. They just want to extract power from the Republicans and to make Republicans look bad.

Kathleen Willey/Mrs. Clinton Connection

Today while driving I heard an interview on the Laura Ingraham Show with Kathleen Willey. I did not get to hear the entire interview as I was running errands, but what I heard was riveting. Much of what I heard was what I remembered from 10 years ago. But, hearing it come from Kathleen herself made so much more impact.

To review what I remember of the situation: Kathleen was worried about her husband and went to see Bill Clinton to ask his help. During her meeting with Bill Clinton, he proceeded to attack her by grabbing her and claiming he wanted to have sex with her. She escaped from the attack and left the White House. She did tell Linda Tripp that day of the attack. Kathleen and Linda had become friends while working in the White House. She told some others at a later date. The next day her husband’s body was found and Kathleen just wanted everything to die down. When the Monica Lewinsky story broke, her story was discovered by investigators that talked to people that talked to her. After that, her cat was killed and her tires slashed. Her kids were threatened and her life was in danger for speaking out against the Clinton machine.

Kathleen Willey blames Mrs. Bill Clinton for running the operation that harassed her and threatened her kids. Her justification for that accusation is that private investigators linked to her harassment were hired by Mrs. Clinton. No direct link has been established that the investigators harassed Kathleen Willey for the Clinton’s. But, they worked for the Clinton’s and they also did the harassing of Kathleen Willey. They had few other clients during that particular time period. Mrs. Clinton’s work tended to dominate their workload. So, the connection can be made if one uses logic. If one is a liberal and logic is not possible, then no link has been established because no paperwork has ever emerged that told the investigators to harass Mrs. Willey.

The pattern of harassment by investigators is similar in the Kathleen Willey case as it is in the Juanita Broderick case, as it is in all the other women that accuse Bill Clinton of harassment or rape. This would cause one to believe that all the cases are connected. Criminals tend to have patterns of behavior that are repeated time and again. The pattern of harassment in all the women’s stories is eerily similar. In every case, the women all accuse Mrs. Clinton of leading the harassment attacks. They are basically accusing Mrs. Clinton of acting like a Mafia Don. The only difference is that Mrs. Clinton is supposedly working within the law.

Why bring this up now? It is old news as it happened 10 years ago. The case has never been resolved. When the ultimate person responsible for the harassment has been caught, tried and convicted, then it will be old news and can be forgotten. Until then, we have to keep it in the public eye. Mrs. Bill Clinton thinks that the White House belongs to her. She will do anything to get back there. The Republican nominee had better watch his back or there might be an arrow there when he least expects it.

It is remarkable to me that there are so many people that will do anything for the Clinton’s. Both of them are proven liars. Both of them are dishonest in their dealings with anyone. Both of them will say one thing to one group and another to another group. Neither one has any shame when it comes to making or breaking promises. The only difference is that Bill is charming. Mrs. Clinton is not. Her cackle could chill the hearts of the warmest person. You would think that people would drop her in a heart beat after he left office. For some unknown reason people did not.

Mrs. Clinton has only one qualification to be President of the United States. She was married to the President of the United States for eight years. That does not qualify anyone to be anything in my mind. That person usually knows less about what goes on than does the average person.

This whole Clinton mystique is a mystery to me. They only make me want to throw up. I have no awe when I look at or think of the Clinton’s. I can only think of sleaze and corruption. I do not want another 4-8 years of sleaze and corruption on a larger scale. The Clinton’s should both be in prison. He should be there for Sexual Assault and Rape. She should go there for Harassment and intimidation of witnesses. Both have lied to Grand Juries and gotten away with it. They both amaze me with their ability to skate above the law.

UN Global Warming Scare

In the Arizona Republic today, there was another in a long series of articles on how global warming is going to destroy us all. This one was about how the oceans are being destroyed by global warming.

I for one am getting tired of the constant drum beat of political alarmism disguised as science. At work this week, my supervisor sent around a memo asking if we should purchase some videos. The videos are about how global warming is destroying our oceans and our environment. Most of the other teachers in the department were chiming in with this is a good investment. I sent back a message that we do not need political alarmism disguised as science in our classrooms. I expect that we will purchase the videos because as an adjunct, I have little or no say in what the department purchases. My comment may have permanently eliminated my chance at a full-time position. I felt it was more important to be true to the truth than to worry about a full-time position that will probably never materialize anyway.

In my mind, science classrooms should be where we teach science. We should leave politics at the classroom door. Global warming and its many myths is a political discussion. It has nothing to do with science. It uses scientific terms and ideas to disguise the political discussion, but it is still politics. If global warming politics is ok to discuss in classrooms, should we also talk about the person most responsible for the increase in health care costs in the last 30 years? That is also a political discussion. It is probably more a political discussion as that person is now running for President as a Democrat. He could never win as a Republican. I do not discuss it because he is better than the Democrat’s main alternative.

The science of global warming is decided. There is no scientific evidence that global warming is as bad as global warming believers say. There is no evidence that global warming is caused by man. There is lots of scientific evidence that proves that global warming is caused by the sun. That is a big surprise.

I know I am not going to win the argument on my campus. I do not have any clout. But, it really grieves my heart to have students come through my college and have students taught lies as truth. When I taught one course that teach about the environment, I taught that global warming was not true. My students were amazed. They had never heard that global warming was not caused by man. They kept asking me to prove my points. When I came up with scientific evidence to back my statements, they started to believe. I cannot say I truly helped any change their minds, but they may question believers in the future. My current course is one where we only talk about the human body. I have no opportunity to discuss global warming.

I do think I will talk to my department chairperson about those videos. I will ask her if we should be teaching politics in the classroom. She will of course say no. I will say that the videos show a political view of what some believe may happen. They do not show the scientific view of what may happen. Science is a black or white field. Global warming operates in the various shades of gray. One scientist said that science does not operate with a consensus. One scientist with the truth holds more power than thousands without the truth. That was true with Galileo. It is true today. It does not matter how many scientists say that black is white. If you can prove that black is black, you are right and they are wrong. There are numerous scientists that say that global warming is a myth. They tend to be people who no longer need funding from the government to live. That is the case because if you do not say you believe in global warming, you do not get funding.

Democrat Debate - Wolf Fell!

The Democrats held their debate in Las Vegas last night. Nothing much happened in the debate. The only thing of note is that the Clinton machine put out a release that they were pleased with the questioning of Wolf Blitzer. That means that Wolf Blitzer blinked in the decision whether to question Mrs. Clinton tough or to go light. He chose to go lightly. That pleased the Clinton camp as it made her look good.

The other candidates did not distinguish themselves very well in the debate. Barak Obama did not know what to do with nuclear waste. He did not want to put it where we are currently storing waste. He also did not want to do anything else with it. His lame conclusion was that American ingenuity would solve the problem. The problem is an ongoing one right now. American ingenuity cannot come to the rescue for a few years at best. What do we do with the waste in the mean time? Barak Obama had no answer. For the other candidates, they had no answer, either.

On the issue of driver’s licenses for illegal aliens Mrs. Clinton came out against giving them to illegal aliens. That was a real big stretch for her as Governor Spitzer had pulled the proposal the day before. So, she was against something that was not on the table. That really showed leadership. It angered some of the more radical Democrats in New York that had believed her when she said she supported Governor Spitzer’s plan just last week. It just shows a Clinton’s spoken word is just as good as the paper it is printed on.

Mrs. Clinton had the chance last night to dance around all the issues, except for driver’s licenses. Nobody called her on the dance. The way to defeat her is to get her to take a stand on an issue where she clearly does not want to take a stand. That comes from being a legislator, not a leader. A leader makes a decision and lives with the consequences. A legislator tries to have both sides of all issues. A legislator even tries to explain away their votes most of the time. A leader takes a stand and lives or dies on the fallout from that decision. People respect people that take stands. They may not agree on all the stands, but they respect the person that takes stands on controversial issues.

One thing came out loud and clear, from the Democrat debate last night, that is that the Republicans are in better shape than people thought. The Democrats are in disarray. They do not know where they stand on any issue. The Republicans have been taking stands on the issues and taking arrows on their stands. That will give them strength in the general election. Not taking stands on any issues will come back to haunt the Democrats when they finally have to take stands. They will not be able to defend their positions, as they just took them up. The best defended positions are those that have been defended for a long time against vigorous attacks.

Mrs. Clinton likes to say she has 35 years of experience. She does not have 35 years of experience in anything. She has only held elective office since 2001. She only worked for the Rose Law firm for a few years before her husband became Attorney General in Arkansas. If you total that up, you will probably only get around 10 years of experience, not 35. The rest of her experience is as First Lady of Arkansas or the US. That is not experience that will prepare you for anything except how to hold a dinner party. When you are a First Lady, nobody wants to know your position on any issue. They want to know your husband’s position. When you ran for office, his name was on the ballot, not hers. When meetings were held with staff, they met with her husband, not her. She did not have a high enough security clearance to get in on most of the top level meetings.

The Republicans have candidates with REAL experience. Their experience is in either the business world or the political world or both. That gives them a big advantage in this time of war. Many liberal pundits think that Mrs. Clinton will have an advantage over Mitt Romney in foreign experience. She has just met first ladies from around the world and attended some funerals. He has actually lived in a foreign country for two years. He also has done business with foreign companies on a regular basis. I do not think that she has any advantage at all. He has had to deal with leaders. She has had to deal with followers. He has the advantage over her.

Democrat Debate - Will Clinton Fail?

The stage is set for another in the exciting series of Democrat love fests called debates. The last one was a love fest because they agree on everything. The only difference is how much government they will saddle us with. The difference is not in will they or won’t they. The difference is in how much.

The last debate was significant for one reason. That is because Tim Russert asked Mrs. Bill Clinton a question about driver’s licenses for illegal immigrants. When she got on both sides of the issue, he asked her again to clarify her position. She again tried to have it both ways. He then asked her to come down on one side or the other. She could not do so. Her natural instinct to hide the truth from the public was too strong. She held her tongue and looked like an idiot in doing so. Her rivals made lame attempts to help her look like a fool, but she was doing a good job all on her own.

The big question going into this debate is: will Mrs. Bill Clinton again make a fool out of herself. She does not want to answer any questions. All that the questioner has to do is make her take a stand on one side of the issue or the other. Then she will hem and haw and not answer the question. That will make her look indecisive and lame. That is what made her look so bad last time. The big question is will Wolf Blitzer make Mrs. Bill Clinton answer questions or will he let her get away with spouting drivel in response. It does not much matter what her opponents do to the questions. She is the front-runner. She has to be decisive and strong. To look weak and indecisive is the worst thing that can happen to a front-runner.

Since Wolf Blitzer was told by the Clinton machine that he has to lay off Mrs. Bill Clinton and not be as tough as Tim Russert. The gauntlet has been thrown down by the Clinton’s. Wolf now has to decide what to do. Does he bow to the Clinton machine and show himself to be weak? Or does he come across strong and show that he is unafraid of the Clinton machine? Tim Russert came off looking good after being smeared by the Clinton machine. Maybe he can do the same this time around?

Those of us who believe that the absolute worst candidate for President is Mrs. Bill Clinton can only hope she falls on her face again. The more she does that the better it is for the country. It may mean a Democrat in the White House, but that is better than a Clinton in the White House.

Mrs. Bill Clinton is also reeling from the planted question at the “Ask Mrs. Clinton Anything” meeting after the last debate. That shows that she is afraid to face a real question. She cannot think on her feet. The debate fiasco of last week and the planted question fiasco are pointing to that. If she is afraid of a real question, what would happen if she was faced with something unusual? Could she respond to an unusual situation without having all the advisors telling her what to do? She knows what she wants to do to the US. That I know for a fact is true. But the real question is could she handle some emergency? I seriously doubt that she could handle an emergency without having a long time to prepare a response. She would not be given the time to prepare a response. I have no confidence in her gut feelings and ability to improvise.

Democrat Debate Problems

Some good news about illegal immigrants, Elliot Spitzer, Governor of New York, announced that he is abandoning his plan to give voting privileges to illegal immigrants. That will make it more difficult for Democrats to commit voter fraud in New York. Mrs. Clinton, of course, says she knew nothing of the plan.

The timing of the announcement is a little peculiar. The Democrats have another of their snooze fests tomorrow labeled as a debate. Mrs. Clinton was sure to get asked about giving driver’s licenses to illegal immigrants. She would then have to actually answer the question this time. By ending the program before the debate, Mrs. Clinton can avoid having to answer a question about giving driver’s licenses to illegal immigrants. That will stop her from one of her looking stupid moments. The looking stupid moment at the last debate was a classic. She is still getting fallout from that last debate flub.

Mrs. Clinton is making sure that there are no questions she cannot answer. She told the person asking the questions to lay off the tough questions. Wolf Blitzer is now put in a dilemma. Should he bow to the Clinton machine and save his life, or should he maintain his integrity and ask the tough questions with follow-up? If it was me, I would ask the tough questions with follow-up. I have lived a good life and have built up my integrity over my entire life. I could not destroy my integrity just to save my life. Of course, the Clinton machine would not have to kill Wolf Blitzer; they could just destroy him with CNN and cause him to lose his job. They have enough pull to do that.

Still, if he stood up to the Clinton machine and came out alive, he would be in great demand by conservative and moderate groups. Wolf could always get a position at Fox News. They are a better station than CNN any day. At Fox News he could actually tell the truth. He would be free to look into real news events. At CNN he is told what he can and cannot investigate. He is also told what his investigation will find out.

The Clinton machine is very powerful right now. If she loses the nomination or the election, their power will be greatly diminished. That would be great for the country. We cannot have powerful forces telling the news what they can and cannot do. The news has to be free to investigate scandals wherever they find them and wherever they lead. Unfortunately, today most news people are liberal. As liberals they get their talking points from the Democrat National Committee. So, they think alike and talk alike. News on one channel is pretty much the same as the news on another channel. Fox News has changed the parameters. The main group does not like the change and is fighting it.

My guess for this Democrat “debate” tomorrow night will be bland vanilla. Nothing will be said or done to create excitement. John Edwards is trying to stir the pot and just might pull a rabbit out of the hat and create some controversy. His only hope is to nail Mrs. Clinton and make her to look like a fool. That is easy to do if you can make her answer a question. She does not want to answer a direct question. She wants everything both ways. Just make her take a stand and then she comes apart and looks the fool. John Edwards has to make that move as it is his only chance to overtake her in the polls. He has caught up in Iowa. That is good because it is changing the Mrs. Clinton is inevitable talk. Keep it up John. Barak has to get on the band wagon and make Mrs. Clinton look the fool also. If both show that she is not ready for prime time, she loses. That is good for the country.

Ask Mrs. Clinton Anything Night - NOT

It seems like Mrs. Clinton is seeding the audience with questions. Then she selects the ones that have the pre-printed questions and she hits the answers out of the park. Of course, she knows nothing about the planting of questions. But, she picked out the people with the pre-selected questions from among all the people in the audience. Now, either everyone had been given a question or she was told who to pick to ask a question.

Her protestations that she did not know about planting questions falls pretty flat. She is a control freak Mrs. Clinton knows everything that goes on with her campaign down to the last paper clip. For her to say that she does not know of the planted questions is a flat-out lie. She knew about the questions, she had to have the prepared answers. She knew who had the questions and made the selections of the people with the questions. So she should not insult my intelligence by saying that she does not know anything about planting the questions in the audience.

This is typical for a politician that wants to appear like they have a command of the issues, but does not. Mitt Romney has the “Ask Mitt Anything” meetings. She has to appear to be at least as competent as Mitt Romney on the issues. If she had a “real,”  “Ask Mrs. Bill Clinton Anything” night, she would be in big trouble. She would not be able to answer more than one or two questions and those poorly. She would be made to look like the fool she really is. To give the appearance of competence, she fakes an “ask her anything” night and got caught. That actually makes her look even worse than she did before she tried to pull the fake. This is on the heels of FEMA pulling off a fake news conference during the fires recently. Whenever someone does that they look terrible.

Mrs. Bill Clinton has had a bad month. She got asked a question at the last Democrat debate that she did not want to answer, so she skated around it without answering it. She then got a follow-up question from Tim Russert that said she did not answer the question. Then John Edwards and Barak Obama called her on the carpet for not answering the question. After being made to look the fool on national TV, she whined that she was being picked on because she was a girl. Bill Clinton even said the “boys” were mean to her. Bill Clinton actually called Barak Obama a “boy”. Since Barak is black that is a demeaning thing to call him.

Now her campaign has to deal with this planted question issue. They are trying hard to brush this issue under the rug, but the college student in question is articulate. By being articulate and not afraid to speak out, the problem is not going away. They are going to have to fire some staffer to “rid” themselves of the person that planted the question.

They have compounded their problems by boasting to the Drudge Report that they told Wolf Blitzer to not gang up on Mrs. Clinton in the next Democrat debate. Wolf now has a problem. If he goes easy on her, he bowed to pressure from the Clintons and loses his integrity. He can be tough on her and anger the Clintons. If you anger the Clintons you may get a one way trip to Ft. Marcy Park. What will Wolf do? If I was threatened by the Clintons, I would have to stand up to them. My line of questioning would be friendly but would require her to fully and completely answer all of the questions put to her. That may very well mean the one way trip to Ft. Marcy Park, but I could never let intimidation tactics work. My integrity is something I could not allow to be taken from me. My life will end at some point. My integrity is so sacred that I could never let anyone take it from me. My integrity is more important than life itself.

The good part about a one way trip to Ft. Marcy Park would be that everyone knows the Clinton’s threatened me. If I was found like Vince Foster, the fingers would point directly at the Clintons. That would make it all worth it.

Political Correctness Run Amuk

Coming in to work on Saturday’s, I like to listen to Mike Broomhead on KFYI. This morning, he read a letter from a Spanish language radio station about the Chandler rapist. The Chandler rapist is identified by police as a man 28-40 years old, Hispanic, 5’6”, stocky build, dark hair, hazel eyes, short beard and moustache, he also speaks fluent English and Spanish. The radio station was complaining that he was identified as Hispanic. They felt identifying him as someone who speaks English and Spanish does not make him Hispanic. They then listed some other ethnic groups that could qualify for inclusion. They then asked the Chandler Police Department to make the correction away from Hispanic.

This is crazy. He was identified as Hispanic because the witnesses have identified him as Hispanic. They also said that he could speak fluent English and Spanish. They did not say that he could speak fluent English and Spanish, therefore he must be Hispanic. Everyone in this day and age is so concerned with political correctness. Why can’t we just get things right, then worry about political correctness later?

In connection with this Chandler Rapist, it is important that people know that he is Hispanic. Because that is so important, the police put that into the description. If they did not care what racial group the person was from, they would have left it off. They want to get the right person, so they included the race description. It also helps the police officer on the beat. The officer is looking for a Hispanic individual. They can let the blonde white guy go. They can let the black guy go. If they find a Hispanic male 28-40, around 5’6” with stocky build, they will investigate this person closely. That means they can target their investigation to the person or group that are most closely involved with the crimes.

This Chandler rapist knows the area well. He only targets homes with single mothers. When the single mother goes to work and leaves her daughter home alone, he comes in and lies down on the couch. When the 10-14 year old girl nudges the person on the couch to find out who they are, he attacks. Yesterday, a girl was smart and called the police. He was able to slip through the dragnet and elude police. The police showed up in 3 minutes, but that was not fast enough as the rapist heard the girl make the phone call and fled. The police then looked for him intently the rest of the day with no success.

Political correctness will be the death of us all, yet. We are so afraid to call a spade a spade, that we will go round and round about the bush before we get to the right thing. The race panderers also go out of their way to make sure that all descriptions of people are without race. That is why 90 year old grandmothers are being investigated more than 18-40 year old Muslim looking men in airports. We have to be politically correct and treat everyone exactly the same. Even though all airport attacks have been carried out by Muslim looking men between the ages of 18 and 40, we still have to look at everyone equally. Airport screeners like that rule so they can target pretty females between the ages of 18 and 40.

We have to get back to where people are what they are. If someone is black, we should be able to call them black in an official description. We cannot have this treat everyone alike mentality. That will be the death of us all if we do that. Ninety year old females are not likely to be suicide bombers. Eighteen to forty year old men of Muslim descent are likely to be suicide bombers. Why don’t we start looking at those individuals more closely?

Pat Robertson Endorses Rudy Giuliani?!!!

I just read an article by Michael Reagan. It was about the endorsement of Rudy Giuliani by Pat Robertson. In Michael Reagan’s mind, Pat Robertson wants to back a winner and that he decided Rudy is a winner. I think the reason is much more sinister than that.

Pat Robertson believes that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is a cult. How he can believe that is beyond me, but he does believe that. He also preaches that members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints are members of that cult. Mitt Romney, one of the leading candidates for the Republican nomination is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Gov. Romney has held many prominent positions in the church and remains faithful to this day, as do his children and grandchildren.

I believe that the main reason that Pat Robertson picked Rudy Giuliani over Mitt Romney is his false belief that members of the Church of Jesus Christ are members of a cult. His second thought may have been that Rudy is a winner, but his first was that Mitt Romney belonged to a cult and could not receive an endorsement from Pat Robertson.

Let’s look at cults, what makes up a cult? A cult is generally based on a single individual. The person starts the cult and builds it up based on his/her personality. After the death of the individual that started the cult, the cult usually starts to break up and within a few years is no more. The reason the cult breaks up is that the cult worships the individual that started the cult either directly or indirectly. When the individual is taken away, their personality is taken away also. When their personality is taken away from the cult, it breaks up. Most cults do not get more than a few thousand followers because they have to personally interact with the cult founder to fall under the influence of the cult.

Let’s look at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. The church was founded to worship Jesus Christ. Joseph Smith was the person most responsible for starting the church in those early years. He was martyred in 1844. The church does not worship Joseph Smith any more than any other Christian church worships Paul. If you attended LDS church services, you would hear a lot of talk about Jesus Christ. You could go weeks or months before you would hear any mention of Joseph Smith. The pictures on the wall depict things that happened in the life of Jesus Christ or the Latter-Day Saint Pioneers. There might be a picture of Joseph Smith in an office, but nowhere in the generally accessible portions of the buildings. From this discussion, Latter-Day Saints do not belong to a cult. They may belong to a different Christian religion, but not a cult.

The other issue that bothers Pat Robertson is the Book of Mormon. Joseph Smith translated the Book of Mormon from some golden plates into English for us to read. It contains an account of some people that left the area near Jerusalem and came to some portion of the Americas. After their arrival here, it talks about their religious history and political history over about 1000 years. Most of the people that wrote in the Book of Mormon claim to be Prophets like Abraham or Moses. If you compare the writings in the Book of Mormon to the writings in the Bible, you would find few scriptural differences. The differences you would find would be more style over substance. The only way to know if the Book of Mormon is true is to ask God if it is true. You cannot ask about something you know nothing about, so you have to read at least portions of the Book of Mormon before praying to God to ask if it is true. The Book of Mormon has a promise that if you ask God with real intent you will know that the Book of Mormon is the word of God. The people that reject the Book of Mormon as the word of God are those that have not read it. I am sure that Pat Robertson has not read the Book of Mormon. If he had read the Book of Mormon and asked God if it was true, God would have told him that it was. Then all of these problems would have been solved. Of course, Pat Robertson would not have the 700 Club and his extensive business dealings. Maybe that is why he does not want people to ask if the Book of Mormon is true?

The Pat Robertson endorsement of Rudy Giuliani is a real head scratchier. There has to be something more to it than meets the eye. We will find out in due time. The truth always seems to come out in the end. Sometimes too late to make a difference, but it always come out.
