That the Democrat Party is the party of emotion was on display this week. On Monday, the Democrats trotted out an 18 year-old girl from Alaska to cry before a committee in the House. She was spouting things she had been taught, not seen. She joined the group that sponsored her trip only two years ago. Two years ago, she had seen no changes in Alaska in her lifetime. Now, she has seen dramatic changes. These changes, according to her, have caused irreparable harm to her people in Alaska. What changes that Alaska has seen these past few years are part of a long-term Pacific cycle. Every 30-40 years, the Pacific causes Alaska to change from warm to cold or back to cold (relatively speaking). If she waits long enough, the cycle will change and things will get back to “normal”

The second crying woman trotted out was this morning on some morning show. She was crying because at an event in Iowa, Barak Obama held her hand. To her that was indication that he cared and that made all the difference in the world. Obama may have cared, but it will make little or no impact on his view of what to do to America. What Obama may have stood for made no difference to this woman. It was all because he held her hand and cared. That was enough for him to get her vote. If getting Democrat votes was that easy, Republicans should go to Democrat events and start holding hands.

The campaign season is supposed to be a season of ideas. Candidates are supposed to tell us what their ideas are. We are supposed to evaluate all the different ideas and their value system from each candidate and pick the best one. Just because a candidate says all the right things is not enough. The candidate also has to have to internal integrity to follow-through on the campaign promises. That is where the value system comes in.

For example, you may like what Mrs. Bill Clinton says what she will do to America. But, can you believe what she says? What is her track record at telling the truth? Does she ever follow-through and actually complete a campaign promise? Well, her record is awful. She never comes through on promises. She promised upstate New York that she would bring jobs. They are still waiting 8 years later. The reason is that she no longer needs the votes from upstate New York. They will never get the promised jobs.

Look at the track record of Rudy Giuliani. He promises that he will appoint strict constructionist judges after the pattern of Scalia and Roberts. What did he do in New York when he appointed judges there? He appointed some of the most liberal judges in the United States. Now, it must be admitted that he did not have free choice of judges. A panel selected three people and he had to pick one of the three. He still tended to choose the most liberal of the three possible choices. Can we believe Rudy when he says he will appoint judges like Scalia and Roberts? Probably no, judges like that would not fit Rudy’s view of right and wrong. It would be difficult for him to choose judges like that. He would more likely pick judges like Kennedy and Stevens, both liberal and awful.

Mitt Romney says he is a conservative. Can we believe him? He was Governor of the most liberal state in the US. He did govern Massachusetts as a conservative. He was not perfect, but few are. He says he is pro-life. He says he had a conversion and tells the story of the conversion. Can we believe him? I believe we can. In other things, he has told the truth or followed through with what he said he would do. Would he appoint strict constructionist judges to the Supreme Court? I believe that he would. He would appoint judges that view the world much like he does. That would tend to make them strict constructionist in their judicial outlook.

You have to look at candidates for President critically. You cannot look at them emotionally. Emotions are fine for some things, but not politics. Politics are about ideas. Ideas do not work well when translated to emotions. Look at the ideas coming from each candidate, then make up your mind based on the ideas of the candidates. Then follow-through and vote for the best person for the job. .

This morning on Laura Ingraham, I heard Lou Dobbs predict that someone not currently running will be the President-elect in November 2008. I find that prediction astonishing. It is almost certainly too late for someone to jump into the Republican or Democrat primaries. They start in just two months. There would not be enough time to build a following in that two month window.

That would mean a 3^rd party person running for President and winning. There has never been a 3^rd party nominee that has ever won the Presidency. There have been some that have won a few states, most notably during the four party elections of 1860. But, no other 3^rd party campaign was really serious. They usually end up getting the person defeated that is most like their political position. That opens the door for someone they dislike winning the election. If there is a 3^rd party run this election season, I believe that the same thing would happen. Mrs. Bill Clinton can only get up to 48% of the vote. She needs someone to run as a 3^rd party candidate and pull votes from the Republican candidate for her to win.

I disagree with Lou Dobbs. I believe that we will have either a Republican or a Democrat as President-elect in November 2008. My hope is that no 3^rd party candidate runs from the right. If that scenario happens, the odds are greatly in favor of a Republican winning in 2008. If there is a 3^rd party candidate from the right, the odds are greatly in favor of Mrs. Bill Clinton as our last President-elect in November 2008.

If you wonder why I put last in front of President-elect after Mrs. Bill Clinton, it is this: I believe she is so weak that the Islamo-Fascists will gain a nuclear weapon and blackmail the US into losing the war against Islamo-Fascism. By 2012, we would be either learning our Muslim prayers or walking around with our heads cut off. She is a disaster waiting to happen and I feel almost powerless to stop it.

The only thing I can do is support whoever the Republicans nominate for President. That includes Rudy Giuliani. I feel that a Rudy Giuliani nomination would be the death of the Republican Party as a force in the American political system. A new party would have to be established that would pick up the pieces of the destroyed Republican base.

I have to work to get the person nominated that best exhibits the values of the Republican Party that I believe in. That person is Mitt Romney. There are others that also exhibit those values, but they have no chance of winning and we have to stop Rudy Giuliani. Mitt Romney has the best chance to defeat Rudy Giuliani and take the reigns of the Republican Party. If he does that, the Republicans will be the majority party in American politics for the next 40-50 years. People will talk of Mitt Romney in the way they talk about Ronald Reagan, the Gipper.

I love America. I want America to prosper and be strong and free. It hurts me to see America being destroyed from the inside by evil influences. We need to embrace freedom once again. We have strayed too far toward socialism and cannot afford to go any further. We need to get back to where our founding fathers intended us to be. We are too large and the world too sophisticated to be as free as they were in 1776. But, we should have much more freedom than we currently have. We need to repeal much of this socialism that has crept into our society. We need to rediscover that individual freedom was the building block that made our country great. When we rediscover individual freedom and go back to private property rights, we will have returned to what made American great. When that happens, it is Katy bar the door for the future. America is coming through and either get out of the way or get run over. That is the America I want to belong to. I do not want to belong to a whiny America where everyone expects everyone else to do things for them. Stand up and do things for you.

In the past couple of days I heard the question, “should evangelicals get behind one candidate or is it still too early?” I believe the answer is that evangelicals should get behind one candidate or Rudy Giuliani will be the candidate.

Right now, Rudy Giuliani is the leading candidate to be the Republican nominee for President. Evangelicals are split between Mitt Romney, Mike Huckabee and undecided. Evangelicals make up the largest single voting block in the Republican primary season. As such they can have a big say in who is the nominee of the Republican Party. There are not enough Evangelicals to single handedly select the nominee, but enough to make almost anyone competitive.

If Evangelicals stay the way they are, split between a many of candidates, it dilutes their power. With Evangelical power diluted, it will be difficult for any of them to mount a successful campaign against Rudy Giuliani. Rudy has the liberal wing of the Republican Party and those other Republicans that want to win over anything else. The Republicans that want to win over anything else can be moved from Rudy Giuliani if they see that there is someone else that can win. For that reason, it is important to select a candidate that has established conservative ideals and has a good campaign organization to allow the campaign to win.

Looking at the Republican candidates that meet the general requirements of the Evangelicals only two really stand out. They are Mike Huckabee and Mitt Romney. Mike Huckabee is a Baptist Preacher. As such, he is an Evangelical himself. He has been coming on strong since his strong showing in Iowa. He is an excellent speaker and can motivate an audience. His weakness is that he raised taxes a lot in Arkansas. Much of the tax raising can be explained by a Democrat Assembly, but not all. His major problem as the one to support for Evangelicals is that he has no national organization. His organization is new and forming. That means it is hit or miss, particularly in the vitally important early primary states.

The second candidate is Mitt Romney. Romney’s strengths are that he has a great organization. He has a plan and has followed it to perfection. Right now, he is leading in Iowa and expected to win. He is leading in New Hampshire and expected to win. He is second in South Carolina. He is leading in Michigan. He is extremely intelligent. He holds “Ask Mitt Anything” meetings wherever he goes. These are completely unscripted events that get the public involved in asking questions of a real Presidential candidate. His biggest weakness for Evangelicals is that he is Mormon. Evangelicals have a problem with Mormon Theology. Politically, Mormons and Evangelicals are the two most closely aligned groups in America. If Evangelicals can get over the Theological problems, they would see the political synergy.

Which candidate is better? Right now, Mitt Romney has a much greater chance of being the Republican nominee than does Mike Huckabee. That is without any Evangelical support. With Evangelical support, Mitt Romney would be just about unbeatable in the South. That would just about insure that he is the nominee of the Republican Party.

For the past couple of weeks many Evangelical and Conservative leaders have recognized that to stop Rudy Giuliani they need to select a candidate now. The candidate with the best chance of beating Rudy Giuliani and most closely aligned with them politically is Mitt Romney. Almost every day for the past 10 days a new Evangelical or Conservative leader is announcing their support for Mitt Romney. It has not turned into massive voter support for Romney’s candidacy. It may yet yield massive support, but none has materialized in any of the polls yet. As we get closer to the time for voters to go to the polls, I think that Evangelical voters will follow their leaders and support Mitt Romney. That should give him the boost in support that he needs to get the nomination. Mitt Romney has to make his “John F. Kennedy” speech. That speech basically tells Evangelicals they are not electing a pastor, they are electing a President. I think that would be the tipping point and the numbers would start flooding in after that talk.

I think the election will be between Mrs. Bill Clinton with her pessimistic view of America and her destructive political machine and Mitt Romney with his optimistic view of America and his positive political machine. The contrast will be stark. People will be attracted to the light and vote for the positive view of America.  

Last night on the NFL pre-game show on NBC, they turned out the lights in the studio. They did this because NBC is promoting “green” week. To turn out the lights was stupid. It made the set dark and difficult to see the different people.

This morning Al Gore was on NBC’s morning show. He was spouting his usual global warming alarmist stuff and it struck me, this guy actually believes what he is saying. I was blown away by the revelation. I thought he knew he was not telling the truth, but said these things any way to get power. I could not believe that he actually believes in lies. There is no scientific evidence to support his position. There is a lot of evidence to refute his position.

Last night on the NFL pre-game they interviewed Matt Lauer from somewhere in the Arctic Circle. He was saying that the ice was melting in Antarctica. That is true for one small part of Antarctica. The majority of Antarctica is growing because of increased ice. Antarctica has been colder than any time in recorded history. If global warming were occurring, Antarctica would be much warmer than it is. The Arctic, where Matt Lauer is, has had some melting during the summer season. It always melts in the Arctic during the summer. Winter is just about to start and things will freeze up again. It has been colder than normal in the Arctic during the winter. This has led to fierce winter storms starting in the Arctic and coming down to the northern parts of the US.

NBC’s “green” week is promoting a political party. If they think they are fooling anyone, they are sadly mistaken. I was not impressed with the way NBC does the news the past few years and this puts the icing on the cake. NBC has gone off the deep end. They are throwing caution to the wind and going full out to support the Democrat Party any way they can. This is a disgusting act and will come back to bite them in the future.

In a quote I heard from Al Gore, he said that all scientists that do not believe in global warming are on the fringe of science. His implication was that these scientists are not to be believed. They are heretics and heretics should not be believed at all. The truth is that the scientists that do not believe in global warming are actually looking at scientific evidence and making conclusions. Scientists that believe in global warming have not looked at the evidence or are going along with global warming for political reasons. More and more important and influential scientists are speaking out against this global warming clap-trap. They are the brave ones and should be commended for their bravery. It takes a brave person to stand up to tyranny of any sort.

But, every time you peel back any global warming believer’s discussion and get to their solutions you find out where they are coming from. The solution always involves bigger government and less freedom. If they get everything they want, the government would be all-powerful and would tell everyone what to do and when to do it. Any deviation from this governmental edict would be immediate arrest and imprisonment. In effect, they want a totalitarian form of government where people have no freedom. Of course, the global warming enthusiast would be one of the ruling elite and have their freedom. Everyone else would have their freedom taken away. When you try to explain how this is un-American and unfair to the majority of the population, the global warming enthusiast just says that it is the price everyone has to pay to stop global warming. It sounds to me like the plan of Satan in the pre-existence. His plan would force everyone to be good to get back to heaven. This plan of the global warming people sounds almost exactly the same to me.

Mrs. Bill Clinton is trying to have it both ways, as usual. She is playing the “girl” card after being mildly roughed up at the last debate. She is claiming that the big bad boys beat up on the poor defenseless little girl. They were so mean. Then she goes to an all-women’s college and claims to be as strong as the boys. She cannot have it both ways in Presidential politics. She is either the poor defenseless little girl and has no business in politics or she is as strong as the boys and can take the hits.

Playing the poor defenseless little girl may play with the left wing nut jobs in the Democrat Party, but it will not work in the general election. People do not want a defenseless little anything. They want a strong leader who will stand up to the bullies all over the world.

That Mrs. Bill Clinton is playing this card is a major tactical mistake. As a woman running for President, she cannot be seen as weak in any way. Women are perceived as weak in any case. To play the weak defenseless little girl is magnifying the problem she has as a woman. It will make it that much more difficult to sell the public on the fiction that she is as strong as the boys. My feeling is that this move is a mistake that will haunt her for some time to come.

The mistake will not hurt her much in the Democrat primaries. She is running against milquetoast. Her competition is so weak that they could not take advantage of Mrs. Bill Clinton self destructing right before their eyes. John Edwards made a lame attempt, then wimped out and blamed President Bush. Obama just feigned confusion over her position. That made for a good laugh, but it did not take advantage of the fact that Mrs. Bill Clinton was self destructing. He could have helped her along and made it a completely destructive moment. Instead, he wimped out and let her make a half-hearted recovery. I think it is because these guys are afraid of the Clinton war machinery that destroys Clinton opponents.

Her problem came from the fact that she always tries to be on both sides of all the issues. When she was called on it in the debate, she had no fallback position. She was used to being able to say anything and not be challenged. When even mildly challenged, she fell apart. That sign bodes well for the general election. Mrs. Bill Clinton is not ready for prime time. If a mild question like the driver’s licenses for illegal aliens tripped her up, what will happen if she gets a real tough question? That is why I love the “Ask Mitt Anything” campaign meetings. Mitt Romney is preparing himself for off the wall tough questions. Mrs. Bill Clinton is getting scripted questions where she is able to memorize the answer beforehand.

Some time in the future, Mrs. Bill Clinton will have to stake out positions on the issues. Right now, she is trying to appeal to everybody on all the issues. To do that, she is saying one thing in New Hampshire and another in Iowa and another in South Carolina. With today’s media, that will not fly. It flew for her husband 26 years ago, but the internet was not as active as it is today. You Tube was not on the internet to highlight every statement or goof. Also, he was a lot better at coming down on both sides of an issue. He sounded like he really cared. She sounds like she is trying to fool you by giving both arguments. People do not like to be fooled, especially by someone so disliked as Mrs. Bill Clinton.

I hope the Democrat Party nominates Mrs. Bill Clinton to be their standard bearer. She cannot get over 48% on an opinion poll against any Republican, even Ron Paul. That is good news, because it means she will end up with 48%. If no person runs a 3^rd party campaign on the right, the Republican should win against a Mrs. Bill Clinton headed Democrat Party.

It seems the Democrat plan to enlist more illegal alien voters is spreading. Elliot Spitzer, Governor of New York, started it all with his plan to give illegal alien’s driver’s licenses. Now, other states have figured out that the plan can swell the voter rolls without having to go through the legal process.

Democrats just love this plan. By giving illegal alien’s driver’s licenses, they can circumvent the process to have them become citizens. They become defacto citizens when they obtain a driver’s license. Having a driver’s license allows them to board airplanes, open bank accounts, vote and other privileges that citizens have. The great thing is that they don’t have to go through all the problems that citizens have to go through. They don’t have to pay taxes or other obligations. They just get the benefits of being a citizen without being a citizen.

The great thing for the Democrat Party is that they get millions of new Democrat voters. The illegal aliens will vote Democrat because most illegal aliens come from socialist states and will vote for a socialist state. The Democrats want to establish a socialist state and therefore they would be the logical place for illegal aliens to go. Also, Democrats are the ones that figured out how to get all the benefits of being a citizen without any of the obligations. For that, they should feel obligated to vote Democrat.

The millions of new Democrat voters would swing any election to the Democrats. The fact that it would be voter fraud is not even on the Democrat radar. It is interesting that the party that claims most voter fraud is the only party that has actually been caught at voter fraud. That falls into my saying that the people that claim fraud usually are the ones committing it. They know how to commit fraud and believe the other side is committing the same fraud. So, they claim voter fraud and blame the other side. At the same time they are doing exactly what they claim the other side is doing.

The other side is usually not guilty of any fraud. They look blankly at the cameras and stammer something about not being guilty of any fraud. When they do that, people think they must be guilty of fraud because they don’t defend it very well. The fact is that they were caught off guard and have no idea what the charge is.

Since the Democrats know that the news media will never investigate charges of voter fraud against them, they know they will get away with it. Just like they know they will get away with illegal fund raising. The news media is the public relations arm of the Democrat Party and as such, would never investigate itself. They are always investigating the Republicans for anything they can think of. Then they report that the Republicans are being investigated for these various irregularities. I am not saying that Republicans are not guilty of doing things wrong from time to time. But, the Democrats regularly do things wrong and are almost never accused of it and are almost never investigated. If they do get investigated, the charges get reduced and some flunky goes to prison. The real culprit gets away completely. The real culprit is usually some high ranking politician, like Mrs. Bill Clinton or her husband.

Last night the Democrats held another in their long series of forgettable debates. They are forgettable because they all hold the same positions on all the issues. The only difference is in how they say they hold that position.

The debate did have an interesting point to it. Mrs. Bill Clinton was asked a specific question about New York politics and their attempt to give illegal alien’s driver’s licenses. She was not prepared for the question, so she tried to dodge the question. Tim Russert followed up and made her answer the question. She still tried to dodge the answer, but gave a telling response. She blamed Bush, of course, for the problem and said that Elliot Spitzer was trying to solve the problem. But the blame also sat with the Senate in not passing the immigration (Amnesty) bill. Her annoyance at having to actually answer a question was evident because she raised her already loud voice.

The reason that the driver’s license issue is relevant to the Presidency is voting. The Motor Voter bill requires that everyone that applies for a driver’s license get an application to become a voter. All the illegal alien has to do is fill out the form and sign it and they are a legal voter in the State of New York. As Mrs. Bill Clinton said, there are up to a million drivers that would apply for the license. That would translate into up to a million new Democrat votes. It would insure that Democrats win New York in the next election.

Homeland Security was asked about the New York controversy. He should say that if New York issues driver’s licenses to illegal aliens, New York driver’s licenses are not valid forms of id. That would enrage New York, but make a point. He will probably wimp out and allow them to enroll a million new Democrat voters.

The other Democrat candidates also hit Mrs. Bill Clinton on the fact that she never tells anyone what she believes. That she does not tell anyone anything was evident in her answers in the debate. Even when she tried to sound like she was being specific, she was using weasel words to make sure that what she said did not mean what people would think it meant.

The debate did highlight one thing. Mrs. Bill Clinton is not ready to debate where any question can be raised. If she is not ready for that she is not ready to be President. Her reaction to being caught with her guard down was to get loud and shrill. That would really turn people off if they were actually listening to the debate. Fortunately for her, people are not listening or watching the Democrat debates. They are generally dull and boring. This one just had some highlights worth the time to watch.

Barak Obama also had a good line about Mrs. Bill Clinton. He said that he had not commented on her statement as he could not figure out exactly what she had actually said. That was a funny way to say that she did not say anything in her answer. Or that she tried to have her answer on both sides of the issue. That is her usual technique. She will talk on one side and then the other of the issue and that will be her answer. Then everyone thinks that she is supporting their position, when she has no intention of supporting any position, except her own.

In the debate, John Edwards cemented his position as the candidate to be hated. He talks so slick. But when you listen to him, you get the feeling of being dirty. He has all the charm and integrity of the dishonest used car salesman. If he gets the Democrat nomination, it will be easy to defeat him. He may look real good, but behind that exterior beats a heart of pure greed. I do not trust him because of his part in raising the cost of medical malpractice insurance. That raised the cost of medical procedures and the cost of medical insurance to everyone.

After this debate, there is less to fear from a Mrs. Bill Clinton candidacy. She may be a ruthless campaigner. But, she is a poor debater. She cannot think on her feet. Placed in a situation where she would be required to think on her feet, she would stumble badly. Any Republican would have to take note of this and make sure at least one debate format put her in a think on your feet situation. Maybe a re-run of the Ask Mitt Anything format would be in order.

It is looking more and more like the Republican primary is narrowing down to two people, Rudy Giuliani and Mitt Romney. The important influence people in the early primary states seem to have recognized this and are lining up into the two camps.

Senator Gregg from New Hampshire announced that he is endorsing Mitt Romney this week. That is an important endorsement. He is one of the two biggest names in the Republican Party in New Hampshire. The other one is not going to endorse anyone in the primary this year. This really gives Gov. Romney a boost in New Hampshire. He was leading anyway, but having Senator Gregg endorse him makes it less likely that anyone would be able to overtake him in the primary.

Rudy’s plan of losing the early states and winning big on Super Tuesday is being reworked. Someone convinced him that losing is never a good strategy. So, he is starting to put all his eggs into New Hampshire. It is closest to New York and the one that gives him the best shot at this late date. Iowa and South Carolina are too far from New York and too different politically to be able to make up ground quickly. New Hampshire is different because it is politically more like New York. If Rudy cannot take New Hampshire he will have a difficult time rallying for a lot of wins on Super Tuesday. This is especially true given that he is now attempting to win in New Hampshire.

Mitt Romney’s plan that he drew up way back at the beginning is showing why it was so wise. He spent time and energy in Iowa. That scared everyone out of Iowa and basically left the state to him. He now has to seal the deal, which I have no doubt that he will. In New Hampshire, he is parlaying his popularity from Massachusetts into popularity in New Hampshire. It is working very well. It has made it difficult for other candidates to get traction in New Hampshire.

The plan is even working well in South Carolina. South Carolina has moved into the number 3 position in the primary season. At first, it appeared that Fred Thompson would win it in a walk. After some campaigning has taken place, Mitt Romney is emerging on top in South Carolina. The resistance to Romney’s religion is reducing. People are realizing that what standards a person has is more important than what religion a person belongs to. That is allowing large numbers of people to come to the Romney camp.

Rudy Giuliani is still leading in the national polls. Those polls are basically name recognition polls. The polls that are important are the polls where people have been campaigning. Those polls show that Mitt Romney is in front or nearly in front everywhere he has campaigned. Rudy can claim that he is in front or nearly in front except for Iowa and South Carolina. Rudy does not have much chance of winning any Southern State, except for Florida. He can win Florida because of the number of people from New York that have moved to Florida to retire.

When I made the prediction that I thought Mitt Romney would be the Republican nominee he was still a long shot. He very much has a chance today. In fact, he is really the better positioned of the two candidates if the truth be known. Mitt Romney has a plan and is working that plan to perfection. Rudy Giuliani is relying on being America’s Mayor after 9/11. He has relied on everyone handing him the nomination based on his actions on and after 9/11. He is finding that people are looking at what he believes and looking for something else. That is why Mitt Romney is running so well. We shall see how the chips fall during the campaign season. Right now, it is looking pretty good for the Romney for President Campaign.

Right now, the signs are small for any campaign. The real movement of voters into one camp or the other has not occurred. Romney still needs to give his speech similar to the one that John F. Kennedy gave about being a Catholic. When he does that, there should be large numbers of evangelical Christians move into the Romney camp.

Last week, I had the opportunity to see “The Great Global Warming Swindle” again with a group of students and faculty from my college. There were about 20-25 people in attendance. It was put on by Phi Theta Kappa, the National Honor Society group on our campus. They showed Al Gore’s Propaganda film last year. When they showed Al Gore’s film, I complained enough that they needed to show this film that they did.

I had seen the film one other time, but I had forgotten how powerful it is in destroying the main thrust of those that believe in global climate change. Those that believe that man is the cause of global climate change point to carbon dioxide as the main greenhouse gas. They then go into elaborate scenarios that show that we are all going to be destroyed by climate change if we do not act today to do something.

The film shows positively that carbon dioxide is not the main ingredient in climate change. They put a chart up that showed temperature and carbon dioxide and the two did not look similar at all. They showed a chart of sun spots and temperature and the two matched almost exactly. They even had on one scientist that is using sun spots to forecast the long term weather. He is more accurate than the National Weather Service.

After the film we had a discussion. I intended to sit there and let everyone talk about the topic. The first question out of his mouth got my goat and I had to say something. I then proceeded to dominate the discussion. My main thrust is that after seeing these scientists give their facts, anyone who believed that man caused global climate change was either an idiot or worse. I was asked why I believed this film over Al Gore’s film. My position was that these people were scientists. Al Gore is a politician. These people studied climate and climate change for a living. Al Gore studied to be a Journalist and a Politician. Their credibility was much higher than Al Gore in this field.

I think some eyes were opened during and after the film. It was a small group. But, even a small group is important. There were many less people that believe in global climate change after showing the movie than before. The interesting thing is that most of the faculty members in attendance were backing me up in my position. For a college, that was impressive. Colleges have a reputation as being bastions of liberalism. It was good to see that there were actual conservatives on campus to balance the idiocy that is used for liberalism.

I understand there is an updated “The Global Warming Swindle”. It contains more information that will debunk the thought that carbon dioxide is responsible for climate change. There is another teacher on campus that would like to obtain and show it. The one we saw was the older version I showed to my class about a year ago. I would love to see the updated information.

What this showed is that if you can get people to watch “The Global Warming Swindle”, you can convince people of the truth. Unfortunately, too many people have drunk the global warming kool-aid and would never watch anything that would disagree with their pre-conceived notions.

This morning on the way to work I heard the most incredible thing. A lady on the radio said that we need to increase taxes because people did not spend their money correctly. I have never heard something so fantastic in my entire life. I should be able to determine where best to put my own money, not the government. But, she thinks that the government will make the best choices with my money.

Try as I might, I cannot think of a single thing the government does right except for the military. Even the military could be improved by getting armchair generals out and putting in fighting generals. Since the government cannot do anything right up to now, what makes you think that they will get anything right in the future?

Government has been handling welfare for 50 years now. We have more welfare than we did 50 years ago when they were going to eliminate it. When private charities were involved in handling welfare, there were less welfare cases. The government involvement grew the problem. One of the best welfare organizations in the world is the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. They make people work for the welfare they receive. As a result, people actively want to get off of welfare. Government welfare just comes in every month without regard to any activity by the participant. People like that because they do not have to do anything.

Health care handled by private individuals’ works wonders. Every person that needs health care gets health care. They get health care when they want health care. There is no rationing of health care. When governments get involved in health care, there are long lines to receive health care. People die before receiving the treatments they need to save their lives. Government run health care needs a private run health care to handle what it is unable to treat. If the US goes the government run route, there will be no place for people to go to receive health care in the world. Look at England where people are performing their own dental work because government dental work has such a long waiting list. Canada is sending pregnant women to the US to give birth because they cannot find enough beds in the Canadian health care system.

Every communist government in the world has either fallen or privatized their economies. Socialism does not work. It has not worked in any other country in the world. It will not work in the United States. It will cause massive problems in the US if it is attempted. Those problems could be avoided by not going down that route.

First some simple economics: If you want to sell more of something, reduce its price. That practice has worked well for Wal-Mart. They became the largest retail store by doing just that. The same thing works with taxes. If you want to increase revenue into the treasury, reduce taxes. Every time the government has reduced taxes the amount of money taken in by the government in taxes has gone up. Every time the tax rates to up, the tax revenues go down. Just like in a retail store, if you raise the price of something, you will sell less of it.

The Democrats are planning to raise taxes on the “rich”. That is one of the more idiotic things I have heard coming from a Democrat. To a Democrat, you are rich if you do not vote Democrat. Right now, the top 1% of the taxpayers earns 21% of the income and pay 40% of the taxes. The Democrats want the top taxpayers to pay an even larger percentage of the taxes. They would like the top 1% of the taxpayers to pay 100% of the taxes if they could. The problem with that scenario is that they do not earn enough money to pay 100% of the taxes.

To make taxes “fair”, everyone should have to pay some tax. It does not have to be a lot of tax. They just have to contribute some tax. That way they feel they contribute to the upkeep of the country. They also are more concerned about where the government spends the money. Right now, the bottom tax group does not pay any taxes at all. They then vote to receive more “goodies” from the government trough. They do not care where they money comes from to pay for their “goodies”. They just want more “goodies” so they can have a better standard of living. They should have to work to have a better standard of living.

The best tax plan out there is the “Fair Tax”. It gets everyone to contribute based on the amount of money they spend. The more money you spend, the more taxes you pay. Right now, we tax income. That is the money the people earn. Much of the very wealthy do not have much in the way of income. Their money makes money for them in the form of investments. These are taxed at a different rate than income. Therefore much of the very rich, many of them Democrats, pay little in taxes at all. People that work for a living have to pay much more in taxes than do the “rich”. Having taxes collected on what you spend rather than what you earn will eliminate that particular problem.

The Democrats are tipping their hand at what they plan to do to America when they get hold of all three branches of the federal government. Charlie Rangel of New York has written a tax plan that will do away with the Alternative Minimum Tax. That is a good thing. The Alternative Minimum Tax is an odious tax that is now infringing on middle class taxpayers. Democrats are now feeling the heat over the Alternative Minimum Tax and want to do away with it. Their solution is to put a surcharge on every single person that earns over $150,000 per year or a couple that earns over $200,000 per year. That plus the expiration of the Bush tax cuts will mean the top rate will go from 35% to 44% of income. That is just on income. They also plan to remove the cap on the amount that can be taxed for social security.

The Democrats plan to place the country into a depression by the end of 2010. That will be great for Republican politicians. It will be bad for Americans. If you want more of something, reduce the cost. If you want more tax money coming in, reduce taxes. If you want less money coming in, raise taxes. Their increase in taxes will lower revenue to the federal treasury. That will increase the amount the federal government will have to borrow each year which will raise interest rates. Their plan is a plan for disaster. Anyone who can add 1+1=2 should be able to see it. Unfortunately, it seems as if people are not looking with their eyes. They only see the chance to elect the first woman as President. That vote will make them feel good. It will also send the country down the toilet.

I am afraid that if the Democrats get into power in 2008, they will manufacture a reason for them to remain in power forever. They will claim that the Constitution is out of date and no longer applies to us in this day and age. Mrs. Bill Clinton will have to stay in power to hob knob with her friends, Fidel Castro and Hugo Chavez, among others.

I heard or read that we are in some ways more corrupt than the Weimar Republic that elected Hitler. I feel that we have our replacement for that maniacal ruler in Mrs. Bill Clinton. Instead of National Socialism, we will get Communism. It will not happen on day one. Hitler did not topple the Weimar Republic on day one. He bid his time until he had his ducks in a row and everything was set to run the coup. I believe that Mrs. Bill Clinton and her cronies will do just like the Brown Shirts did in Germany all those years ago. They will foment discontent until a savior has to emerge in the form of Mrs. Bill Clinton. She will then suspend all rights and institute martial law.

Our founders saw this day coming over 200 years ago. That is why the second amendment to the Constitution is there. It would be difficult to institute martial law with so many guns in the hands of American Patriots. The government would have a difficult time taking all those weapons, unless they could fool people into giving them up. I doubt that would happen. Americans are pretty protective of their guns. The government could bad the sale of guns and ammunition. That would hamper people from defending themselves. There are enough guns and ammunition in the public for a good resistance to develop.

I hope that saner heads prevail in the 2008 election and Republicans regain control of at least one house of Congress and the Presidency. That would insure that we will remain free and prosperous for at least 4 more years. That is one problem with American democracy; you can only guarantee your freedoms 4 years at a time.

I cannot think of a single reason to vote for Mrs. Bill Clinton except for the fact that she is the first credible female candidate. But, that is no reason to vote for anyone. You should never vote for someone based on something they cannot change. If you vote on race or gender, you will frequently be unhappy with your choice. If you vote on what the person believes, you will always be happy with your choice.

Dingy Harry has had a bad week. Yesterday, he was confident of winning two votes. One was the confirmation of a judge for the 5^th District court, he lost. The other was for the DREAM Act. In fact, he was so confident of the DREAM Act passing that he blocked out a day and a half for debate on the measure. It went down to defeat as well.

The district court judge vacancy has been open for over 1000 days. That is just too long to leave a judge position open. Judge Southwick will be an excellent judge and probably even a candidate for the Supreme Court. That is probably why Dingy Harry wanted to kill the nomination of Judge Southwick.

The DREAM Act was another amnesty attempt by the Democrats. They wanted to fool everyone into thinking that it was some minor tinkering with the immigration laws. In fact it was an amnesty bill. The grass roots found out about it and deluged the Senators with emails and FAX to tell their Senators that this is an amnesty bill and to vote no. Enough Senators got the message and the bill was voted down. Dingy Harry had counted his votes and was confident that he had the 60 votes he needed to vote cloture. He ended up with only 52.

This comes on the heels of his attempt to tie his energy bill to the fires in California and the fires in California to global warming. That was a disgraceful attempt at grandstanding. He got caught at it and back peddled quickly.

Other Democrats that tried to grandstand the fires in California are also feeling the heat from the public. They do not like people grandstanding when people are in harm’s way. The people in California are not calling themselves victims. They do not want to be treated as victims. The Democrats in Washington are trying to make them victims. This is an interesting confrontation. The people are standing up against the idiots in the Democrat Party that want to make everyone a victim. They also want to make everyone dependent on government.

The other interesting thing is that the State of California responded quickly and well to the emergency. This is in stark contrast to the response of the State of Louisiana. Louisiana fumbled the ball every time it had its hands on or near the ball. The federal government tried to bail out the State of Louisiana and was blamed for making the mess. That the mess was the responsibility of the State of Louisiana is crystal clear now. California is showing what should be done in an emergency. The federal authorities are playing their projected role as backup to the State authorities.

Speaking of the State of Louisiana, they recognized the mistake they made 4 years ago in electing Kathleen Blanco as Governor. She beat Bobby Jindal, a Republican, by a couple of points back then. Had Bobby Jindal been in charge, he would have had things organized and would have responded well. Bobby Jindal was elected in their preliminary round with 54% of the vote. There were 18 names on the ballot. That was quite an accomplishment. He is the first Republican to run Louisiana in a long time. His first priority is to get rid of the corruption that permeates Louisiana politics. That may take more than one term, but Louisiana elected someone who will get the job done. He has had major responsibility in the state for the past 12 years. His parents immigrated to the United States from India just prior to him being born. He is the first person of Indian descent to be elected Governor in the entire country. This is a big day for racial progress. He may go a long way in politics, maybe even to be President.

We have reached a new low in politics with regard to the environment. The erstwhile leader of the Senate, Harry Reid (Dingy Harry), held a press conference about an energy bill. At this press conference he said that the fires in California are a result of global warming. Then about 6 minutes later was asked about the fires being caused by global warming and denied saying that he said the fires were caused by global warming. How dumb can you be?

The fires have multiple causes. Some were caused by arson. Some were caused by natural causes. Some were caused by carelessness. What are fanning the blazes are the Santa Ana winds. The Santa Ana winds come almost every year to Southern California. They are hot and dry. Growing up in Southern California, I dreaded the Santa Ana winds. They were just awful. The high winds and fire are just asking for a disaster. The firefighters are unable to stand in front of the Santa Ana wind blown fires. They have to let the fires burn out before attacking what is left of the fire.

The fuel for the fire comes from the buildup of brush and debris in the forested areas. Normally people would go into the forest and clear out the brush and debris, but the environmentalists have kept them out with lawsuits. As a result, the brush and debris built up and became dry. When put with fire and wind, the fire took off.

So to blame the fire on global warming is just stupid. Global warming had nothing to do with the fire. The Santa Ana winds are caused by a cold low pressure in the Rocky Mountains. So, cold is responsible for the disaster. If global warming had a part, the cold low would not have formed and the Santa Ana winds would not be blowing. Then the fires would have been contained to a few acres. Now, there are thousands of acres of land that have burned. Over 500,000 people have been evacuated from their homes. The estimated loss is over $1 billion. That is a big loss and global warming had absolutely nothing to do with it.

Some politicians are also trying to blame the war front in Iraq for a lack of personnel and equipment. This is a bogus argument. You could put the entire US military out in California and they could not stop the fires. The high winds make it impossible to fight the fires, because they are moving too fast and are too hot.

What is happening to the politicians is that they are projecting their bias onto the fires. If they believe in global warming, then it has to be responsible for the fires. If they do not believe in killing Islamo-Fascists before they kill us, they will blame the war. Politicians need to get a real dose of reality. They cannot go off and blame the first thing that comes to mind or the popular thing to blame. They have to have the facts behind them when they make statements. People should hold these politicians accountable for their words. Unfortunately, people do not hold politicians accountable for their words. That is why politicians say stupid things and do not even blush when it is brought to their attention. They know the public will ignore any stupid thing they said.

That is changing with the internet. Things politicians said in the past can be brought back to haunt them. The comments today by Dingy Harry will dog him for some time. The colossal ignorance of the main stream media is coming to an end. The internet is making public figures accountable for things they say and do. One day that will happen even in the main stream media. I may not live long enough to see it, but it will happen.

There is a fund raising scandal that has not hit much of the main stream media. The Los Angeles Times has done some work identifying and finding some of the donors to the campaign of Mrs. Bill Clinton. The campaign lists are of donors of Chinese origin.

There are two types of donors on the list. The first on the list are people that do exist. They generally earn minimum wage or just above minimum wage. They have no property except for some clothes. They donate the maximum to the campaign. When questioned, the people generally answer that they were told to go to the meeting but they did not donate any money.

The second group is much shadier. This group is unable to be found at all. The Times would go to the listed address and nobody at that address can identify that the individual has ever lived there. The Times would also go to places of business and ask for the individual. People at the business would never have heard of people by the name listed on the campaign donor list. These people also would give the maximum to the campaign of Mrs. Bill Clinton.

There appears to be something truly fishy here. These people either do not exist or if they do exist are dirt poor. In either case, they are able to give the maximum $2300 to the campaign of Mrs. Bill Clinton. Where I grew up, they would call that fraud. In Democrat circles, they just call it fund raising.

What I think is happening in the Chinese community is that someone is gathering names and generating Chinese sounding names. They take a bundle of money and donate it to the Mrs. Bill Clinton campaign. On the records, the campaign money came from these dirt poor individuals or non-existent individuals. In reality, it came from the Red Chinese government. The Clinton’s have raised a lot of money from the Communist Chinese government over the years. They have similar goals for America, so the Communist Chinese are very willing to donate.

This is a main stream media group doing the investigating. Why aren’t the other main stream media outlets picking up on their information? Well, it looks bad for the anointed Democrat candidate, Mrs. Bill Clinton. If this were a Republican, or another Democrat, the results would be all over the place and the candidate would be out of the running by yesterday. Because it is Mrs. Bill Clinton, and the Clinton’s can do no wrong according to the main stream media, they will not report it. The information has gotten out, but only on Republican internet sites.

The corruption of the Clinton’s is something that I would not have believed possible in an American politician. Sure some politicians take graft under the table, but not to the extent that the Clinton’s do it. The really brazen part about the Clinton’s is that they do it out in the open and do not care if they get caught. They know they will not be prosecuted or if prosecuted will not be convicted.

Look at the current case against Mrs. Bill Clinton, all of her money men are going to prison, yet she is free as a bird. The prosecutor has copies of Mrs. Bill Clinton on tape saying she was involved in all the planning and execution of the crime. The prosecutor will not prosecute her because she is a powerful member of the Democrat Party. She could destroy the prosecutor if she so chose. Any prosecutor that chose to prosecute her for her crimes would find him/herself destroyed professionally. He/She would not be able to prosecute anything after attempting to prosecute her royal highness. The case would fall apart as witnesses would find themselves taking a long dirt nap or so terrorized that they would be unable to testify. The current lawsuit is a perfect time to get the Clinton’s in prison where they belong. No prosecutor will touch it. That is a shame and a disgrace for our legal system that someone is above the law.

This corrupt politician wants to be the leader of the United States. This person wants to destroy the ideals of the United States and turn us into a third world country. We will be just another communist country when she is through with her many proposals to destroy all that is America.

I am heartened to see that Evangelical Christian Leaders are now starting to migrate to Mitt Romney. There has been about one or two a day for the past week. That is not a lot, but it does indicate that a trend is starting. Evangelical leaders have decided that Rudy Giuliani is not suitable for a nominee. They looked at the list of likely nominees and selected the one that was closest to their positions on the issues. They also made the decision on whether the candidate was positioned to make use of their support.

Mitt Romney fit criteria of the current list of Evangelical Leaders most closely. He was one of the three most likely candidates to be nominated. The other two are Rudy Giuliani and Fred Thompson. The Evangelical Leaders decided they did not want either of those candidates to be the Republican Presidential candidate.

Mike Huckabee has been mentioned as a potential recipient of the Evangelical support. The only problem is that Mike Huckabee is not positioned to win the nomination. Mike Huckabee is a real nice guy. He is great on the issues. He just does not have the fire in the belly to actually win the nomination. The ones with the fire in the Republican field are Mitt Romney and Rudy Giuliani.

Mitt Romney is positioned to win the nomination. Without the Evangelical support he is leading the polls in Iowa and New Hampshire. He is close in South Carolina. He is leading or a close second in most of the rest of the states. With Evangelical support he should be able to take almost all of the Southern states. He would probably be able to take most of the Midwestern states as well.

I look for this trend to continue. Evangelical leaders will continue to move to Mitt Romney’s campaign because his campaign is the best place for them to be to stop Rudy Giuliani. If they put themselves anywhere else, they are likely to make it possible for Rudy Giuliani to win the nomination. That would be a disaster for the Republican Party. The Republican Party has to have a pro-life candidate. Rudy is anti-unborn life.  We need a nominee that reflects the platform of the party. We need someone who is different than the Democrat candidate.

One thing I really like about Mitt Romney’s campaign is the “Ask Mitt Anything” meetings that he holds. He allows questions from anyone about anything. He generally does extremely well. Holding these meetings entirely unscripted makes it likely that he would make a mistake every now and then. He has made his mistakes, but they have diminished as he has gone through the campaign. That will help him when he debates the Democrat candidate.

Mrs. Bill Clinton has held the town meetings like all the other candidates. Her meetings are entirely scripted. There are no unscripted questions. All questions and answers are prepared in advance. This is to reduce her usual foot in mouth problem. She still makes the usual number of mental mistakes like all candidates. She is not prepared to be asked anything by anybody. For a supposedly smart woman, she goes out of her way to make sure that all her events are entirely pre-planned. That is no way to handle the diverse problems that arise in a real campaign or if she held the Presidency. She would be unable to react quickly to problems as they arise. She would have to have her answers scripted out ahead of time. Not good if an emergency arose.

It looks to me that the candidates will be Mitt Romney for the Republicans and Mrs. Bill Clinton for the Democrats. That gives people the biggest choice difference between two candidates in my lifetime. Mitt Romney wants to get the country back to individual freedom. Mrs. Bill Clinton wants to increase socialism and government dependence. The choice will be freedom and light or dependence and darkness. I like our odds in that scenario.
