A disturbing thing happened at the Occupy Oakland riots yesterday. A man in a Mercedes ran over a couple of protesters. That is the basics, now for the rest of the story.

The Occupy Oakland protesters were busy rioting. They had attacked a Bank of America branch and destroyed an ATM and broke windows. They then attacked a Whole Foods store with people inside. They broke windows and threatened the people inside. The police managed to evacuate the people through a back door. When the people left, the protesters wrote graffiti on the walls of the Whole Foods store.

About that same time, a man in a Mercedes came down the street. He obeyed the traffic lights and stopped his car. That was his first mistake. The protesters saw the car and surrounded it. They started beating on the car with their fists and anything else they could find. One protester stood in front of the car and would not allow the car to leave. The driver tried to move his car forward a number of times but was blocked each time. With each attempt, the protesters ramped up the attack on the car. Finally the driver of the vehicle had taken all he could and gunned the car, running over two protesters in the process.

The BART police investigated the accident and released the driver of the Mercedes. The protesters were upset to begin with and they became incensed with the release of the driver. They wanted the driver to receive the punishment he deserved for running over their fellow protesters. The investigation of the matter is now in the hands of the Oakland Police Department.

The protesters that were interviewed all said that the driver of the car tried to drive through the crowd and hit some of the innocent protesters. None of the protesters admitted that they were attacking the car just before it sped off. If you believe the protesters, they were completely innocent bystanders and this driver just irresponsibly drove into the crowd to injure people.

What should the driver have done in that situation? I am not sure. His first mistake was obeying the traffic laws when he saw a mob. When he identified the mob’s presence, he should have removed himself from the area as soon as possible in order to minimize the danger. It becomes a little murky after he was surrounded and the protesters were pounding on his car. There is a video of this entire situation, so the facts should not be really in doubt. Remember that he is in a car that is not structurally reinforced. The pounding on the car will eventually lead to the protesters getting into the vehicle. If they get into the vehicle, the driver should rightly fear for his safety. This crowd was out for blood. They had already destroyed two buildings and had terrorized the people inside of one of them. On the Glenn Beck radio show, they suggest that the driver should have kept moving the car forward slowly. That may have worked, but with the number of people present, they might have been able to stop the vehicle from moving. If they stopped the vehicle from moving on their own, the protesters would have become unstoppable. Keeping moving was the driver’s best option. If he could have moved the people from in front of his vehicle by keeping moving, he could have left easily. But none of those things happened. He was at a standstill and was being hammered into submission by the crowd. Eventually he cracked under the pressure. I am sure that almost anyone else would have done the same. The driver is in a lot of trouble because of his actions. He did injure two people with his vehicle. Getting a fair hearing in Oakland or in the entire San Francisco Bay area will be extremely difficult. Most people around there would most likely sympathize with the protesters. If that is the case, the driver would stand no chance in court.

That is just one of the scenarios that we have to plan for in the future. What would we do if we were surrounded by a crowd that would not let us go? How could we escape with our life? We have to roll play those scenarios in our minds now, before we confront them in real life. That way we can rationally plan out what we will do.

At the Occupy Oakland event, there was an altercation between the protesters and the police. During the altercation, one protester was hurt. He is a former marine who now runs a web site that attacks the marines.

The Occupy Oakland protesters are hailing this former marine as a hero. They claim that the police shot him with rubber bullets and broke his skull. He did suffer a fractured skull. The police ran an investigation of every officer that was at the altercation. There were 37 officers present when the event started and finished. All of them were armed. The investigation showed that 2 of the 37 officers were armed with rubber bullets. Neither officer armed with rubber bullets fired their weapon during the protest altercation.

Prior to the police response of firing tear gas and flash bombs into the crowd, the protesters were throwing rocks and bottles at the police. Since no officer shot a rubber bullet, the injury to this former marine must have come from the rock and bottle throwing by the protesters.

On a news report on the way into work today, it was reported that the police fired rubber bullets into the crowd and injured this former marine. Obviously the reporter making this allegation does not have all the facts or chose to ignore the truth.  The police report was public information by the time the reporter made her report. So, any reporter that did due diligence would know that the police did not fire rubber bullets and injure the former marine. She should have done some independent investigation or deductive reasoning to come up with the idea that it might have been the protesters themselves that injured the former marine. I realize that deductive reasoning is probably outside of what was taught at journalism school, but is something she should have picked up along the way in school or just in life. Not being factually correct is the downfall of many a reporter with an agenda. This reporter is no exception to that rule.

Since the occupy protests are shrinking due to lack of interest, they need to ramp them up a bit. The obvious method to ramp up the protests is to confront the police and get them to respond. That means some protesters will be injured and go to jail. The point then becomes that these “poor” protesters were being brutalized by the police. Then the truth comes to light and that perfectly crafted story goes out the window. People who are not aware of the facts will be duped into believing the reporter’s version of the truth until they discover the truth for themselves. The reporter’s credibility will take a hit for her lack of integrity. The reporter’s news agency will take a hit for having such a twit on their payroll.

I expect to hear about more violent protests at these occupy events in the next few weeks. Their initial support is dwindling, so they need to do something to attract attention. Riots are always an attention getter. In this protest in Oakland, the protesters got some people arrested for occupying a bank. When the arrested protesters were being hauled off to jail, the mob stormed the police. Expect to see more of this tactic by the occupy people in the near future. The protesters need to keep the spotlight on their protest. As the interest wanes, the need for more attention grows. Sooner or later, someone will get seriously injured or killed to try and make the protesters point.

The people behind the Occupy Wall Street and other occupy events want you to think that the protests are spontaneous. Nothing could be further from the truth. These events were planned out down to the very last detail. The implementation of their plan has been ragged, but you expect that. In military terms, the best military plan in the world is only good until the first shot is fired.

The supporters of the Occupy Wall Street and other occupy events do not want you to know who they are. There are some strange bedfellows in the list. The list is headed by a large number of socialist and communist groups. That is to be expected, they want to overthrow the government and this event would be just the ticket. The next group on the list is unusual when you have communists on the list. That is the White Supremacist groups and the Nazi party. Those two groups have basically been in the same boat in the United States for years. But, for them to be in bed with the communists is unusual. But remember, Nazi means National Socialist. So their ideology is not really that different. The main difference is how they get to total government control. The rest are Muslim groups and leading Democrats looking for anyone that might support them.

In some video clips showing the aggression of the protesters, I was struck by the hypocrisy of the protester that cried out that they were protesting for the police pension. No, they are not protesting for police pensions. They are protesting to bring down the government. They just see Wall Street and capitalism as their vehicle to that end. Once they have brought down the government, they believe they will step in and take over. Each group believes that they will be the group leading the way. The group most likely to succeed is the one that is the most ruthless when they deal with other protesting groups and the government.

The ignorance of the protesters is amazing. When you hear them talk, you are struck with the utter stupidity of their positions. They want the government to supply all of their “wants”. They feel entitled to have everything. People who are working should be forced to pay for their “wants”. When confronted by people with cameras who know something, they are dumbfounded by logic. It is as if they have never heard of the idea of using logic in a conversation. They had believed the slogans and lies that they were taught in school and by the leaders of the protest. But when confronted with facts, they are unable to process the information. They continue to spout their slogans and ignore the facts they were just given. If this is the product that comes out of the “elite” institutions of higher learning we should demand a refund because these students did not learn anything.

One of the biggest complaints the protesters have is the high cost of student loans. The reason they have such high student loan numbers is that they had to pay for the most expensive schools in the country, the Ivy League Schools. The protesters could have received a better education for much less money if they had done their homework they could have gone to a much less expensive school. The Ivy League schools used to be a place where you got the best education. Now, with political correctness running rampant at many schools, Ivy League schools only give you an average or below average education. You go to an Ivy League school because of the name of the school, not the education you will receive. Before picking a school, one should see how far political correctness has taken hold. If it is rampant on campus, go to another school. Wherever you find political correctness raising its head, you find that real educational learning goes out the window.

On Sunday Night Football, they were advertising a new show by Brian Williams. The problem with the new show by Brian Williams is that it will just be a rehash of the Democrat propaganda sprinkled with pictures. There will be no cutting edge stories that blow the truth through the lies being told by the Obama administration. In fact, the truth will probably be the rarest thing on the show. Things will only be true if they agree with the Obama administration and the Democrat party. Otherwise, the truth will be ignored, just like it is on the regular NBC news.

Liberals just do not understand that repackaging liberalism does not make it true. Just because you jazzed it up with new bows and whistles does not mean people will believe it any more than the original model. But to a liberal it does not matter what the truth is, it just matters that you intend to do the “right” thing. Your intentions mean more than the truth. That is one of the things that separate liberals from the rest of the country. “Real” Americans believe that the truth is the truth. Your intentions mean absolutely nothing when you are talking about the truth.

Fox News Channel is beating the competition because they have a philosophy that the truth is what matters. As Glenn Beck constantly repeats, “The Truth has no Agenda”. If you as a news person constantly strive for the truth, your credibility goes up. Fox News Channel tries to report the truth about the news more than the government controlled media. As a result, they have far more viewers than the government controlled media.

Glenn Beck has started GBTV and The Blaze. They are attempting to give people the unvarnished truth. Fox News Channel still has a lot of liberals working there, so it is difficult for them to maintain an allegiance to the truth at all times. Glenn Beck has drilled into The Blaze that the truth is what matters. Follow a story to discover the truth and you will end up where it leads. If you have an agenda when you attempt to follow the truth, you will end up where your bias lies.

So, for Brain Williams and NBC News, it really does not matter that they are repackaging their product. It is still pure liberalism in another guise. NBC News and their affiliates at CNBC and MSNBC do not have a commitment to the truth that Fox News Channel has or even The Blaze. As a result, those stations are losing viewers by the thousands. They keep trying to repackage their products to make them more appealing, but nothing seems to work. Any American can tell them what they are doing wrong. When your Chief Officer is the Job’s Czar for Obama, you are in trouble. Your credibility has been compromised. A news organization cannot have their credibility compromised. When they lose their credibility, they lose everything. It takes almost forever to regain credibility once you lose it. The NBC companies do not seem to care right now. They continue to put out government talking points as fact and wonder why nobody is watching.

The public is not stupid. The public can be fooled for a while, but not forever. Credibility is the most important thing a news organization can have. Once they lose that, they might as well close up shop. It takes a lot of incredibly credible reporting to regain lost credibility. Right now, the NBC companies don’t seem to care that the public has determined that their credibility is nearly at zero. They can get it back, but they have to distance themselves from the Obama administration before the public will buy anything that the NBC companies will sell.

Barack Obama said this week that we have lost our drive to succeed. Basically he said we have fallen into the malaise that so plagued the Jimmy Carter administration and caused it to be defeated in 1980. But where is this malaise? Is it in private industry? Or is it in government?

I contend that private industry is as industrious and innovative as ever. New products are coming out all the time. Our lives are being improved by the technical innovation of the American worker. There is little that private industry cannot do if government gets out of the way and lets them do it.

The malaise is occurring in government. We are being saddled with the tired ideas of Marxism that were old when Karl Marx wrote them in the 1800’s. Marxism is nothing more than total control over the lives of the people in a country. That idea was first put forward by a little known individual by the name of Lucifer, commonly known as Satan. He proposed that he would save everyone in the world. He would force everyone to do what was right and not give them the option to make a mistake. To achieve this goal, he wanted the honor that went with it. For his arrogance, he and 1/3 of the host of heaven were thrown out. They are a major cause of the problems we have in this world.

The plan that was accepted was Free Agency or Independence. Everyone would come to Earth and be able to make choices for good or evil. The American Constitution is the best representation of the concept of Free Agency or Independence that has ever been produced by man. The scriptures tell us about Free Agency and how to make good choices. The Constitution tries to put those ideas in a form that allows a country to function and thrive. The Constitution is not perfect, it was written by men after all. But, we can modify it when we discover errors. That is the beauty of the system.

There are those that are opposed to freedom. They parade around as pseudo-patriots and try and tell us what to do. The current administration is a perfect example of what I am talking about. They are opposed to freedom. Look at Obama’s words when he was talking about the malaise. He talks about the uncertainty of independence. He talks about the difficulty of having to make decisions on your own. Those are true, but that is the beauty of independence. The reward for making those decisions and going through the uncertainty is definitely worth the problems. Having a “big brother” in the form of government telling you what to do would stifle your ability to succeed. With government telling you what to do, you will never be as great as you could be. Great people are tested in many ways. The tests they pass cause them to become great.

If you watch the movie, “The Green Lantern”, the hero is chosen to be part of the Green Lantern Corps. The qualification for the Green Lantern Corps is to be without fear. Hal happens to be human. Humans have fear built into us. He was chosen because he could overcome fear. That is how he becomes great. Once he realizes that he becomes greater than all those that were without fear to begin with. But, that is because he made the choices necessary to overcome fear. If he had listened to government, he would still be huddled in fear and be a nothing. All of us are like the hero in the Green Lantern. We can become great of we choose. But, we as individuals have to decide to become great. The government cannot do it for us and we cannot rely on the government to help us. We have to do it ourselves. That is the purpose of freedom. It gives us the opportunity to be what we can be. Not all will reach the very top. But everyone can reach a level of success that is accessible for them. They just have to make the choices necessary to get there. They can have help, but the government is an anchor, not a hand up.

Rick Perry made a comment in the last couple of days that has the government owned media in a tizzy. He said that he was not sure that the birth certificate that Barack Obama produced was authentic. Some on the right are also in a tizzy because they bought into the fiction that Barack Obama produced an authentic birth certificate. On the Barry Young show this morning, Barry Markson was on and went over this issue. He and Michelle Larson agreed that Rick Perry made a mistake going down this road.

What the government owned media and those on the right that bought into the Obama birth certificate idea are missing is the evidence against it. An expert on producing that kind of document worked on trying to reproduce the birth certificate. He did so after a lot of work trying to find out how the original forger did his/her job. He then produced a birth certificate that is nearly an exact copy of the original without copying anything that was used on the original birth certificate. In his opinion, the original forger wanted people to find out that it was a forgery, but he wanted to make it as authentic as possible. That way the controversy could continue and those that wanted to believe would be deceived and those that were skeptical would not believe. That is exactly what has happened.

Rick Perry mentioning his opinion on the birth certificate controversy was his mistake. His opinion is not the mistake it is mentioning it in public. Because he is running for office, he is under scrutiny from the government controlled press. To be skeptical of the birth certificate in their eyes is proof that you are not qualified to be President. This is despite the mounting evidence that the birth certificate was a forgery. So, yes Rick Perry made a gaffe, but it is not the gaffe he is being accused of making.

Any thinking person should have asked the question when the birth certificate was produced, why is this birth certificate being produced now? If this birth certificate is really the original, why not release it when the original inquiries came out? Why spend a lot of money trying to fight producing this document if you have it and what was produced was the original? Those are just some of the questions that needed to have answers when the birth certificate was produced. None of these questions were answered at the time and still have not been answered.

The government controlled press is playing a game of “gotcha” with the Republican candidates. That is an easy game to play. You keep asking questions that are designed to make the Republican candidate sound or look stupid. When they finally make a mistake, you cry “gotcha” and label the candidate as unfit for public office. If you do that often enough, you can winnow the field down to the candidates that you deem most acceptable to the liberal elite in the east. That is how the game has been played for many election cycles. With the arrival of the Tea Parties, the “gotcha” game does not work as well. When the government controlled press cries, “gotcha”, everyone knows what is going on. So the negative effect is minimized from this childish game.

You still don’t want to fall into the trap laid by the government controlled press. Rick Perry did just that. No matter what his opinion, he now has the albatross of his opinion on the birth certificate to carry around until November 2012. Can he overcome this albatross and still win? Yes! We still have to wait for the primaries to be held to determine who will eventually lead the Republicans into battle against the Progressives for the Presidency in November 2012.

Qaddafi is no more. The man with the hardest name to spell is now dead. There are about as many ways to spell Qaddafi as there are people trying to spell it. As far as I know, there is no “official” way to spell his name. Now that he is dead, it does not matter. His death closes a 42 year reign as the leader of Libya.

The details of his death are still sketchy about 24 hours after he met his demise. The original report had him captured. The second report said he was killed. Obama is trying to take credit for the death by claiming that a Predator Drone fired a missile that attacked the convoy that Qaddafi was in. Are any of these the truth or are all of these the truth? Eventually the truth will come out on the details of Qaddafi’s final moments.

My guess is that the Predator Drone fired a missile that stopped the convoy and possibly injured Qaddafi. The insurgents then captured the convoy and the injured Qaddafi. Not wanting a trial and probably to take out some revenge, the insurgents killed him on the spot. There are pictures of Qaddafi’s dead body being dragged through the streets.

It is interesting that showing a dead Qaddafi is ok, but showing a dead Osama bin Laden is not ok. Something seems amiss with that scenario or am I missing something? We still have not seen a picture of a dead Osama bin Laden. Osama bin Laden’s body was treated with respect by the Navy Seals. We have seen the gruesome pictures of Qaddafi’s body being dragged through the streets in an act of brutal barbarism by the insurgents. Now the true bloodbath will begin in Libya. Anyone that is thought to have sympathetic thoughts toward Qaddafi and his regime will be tried by a kangaroo court and killed. Then, anyone who starts to oppose the new rulers of Libya will be summarily dispatched. Thousands will most likely die before this is all over. How many thousands will die is anyone’s guess at this point. I would venture that the number will be at least 500,000.

Right now, our Fearless Leader is trying to take credit for deposing Qaddafi. Our Fearless Leader always wants the plaudits when things are going well or even perceived to go well. When things are tough, he is nowhere to be seen. He lets others take the heat for his mistakes. But, that is what a “Fearless Leader” does. A true leader takes the praise and the heat. Since Obama is nothing but a fraud, he is nowhere to be found when things are tough. When it is time to hang awards for bravery or accomplishment, he is first in line. That is one thing I miss about George W. Bush, he always tried to give credit to others and deflect it from himself. That ended up making him that much better of a leader in everyone’s eyes. Obama’s policy of taking all the credit and none of the blame does not endear him to anyone.

We should not have been in Libya in the first place. I can see sending Predator Drones or stuff like that. The bombing and other support we have provided was not necessary if the insurgents were going to win. We ended up killing civilians for no particular reason. We helped the very people that are killing our soldiers in Iraq. That does not make any strategic sense at all. Perhaps we will hear justification for the Libya incursion in the future. But right now, we are being left in the dark. Hopefully we will learn the reason before Obama leaves office. But if we do not know now, we are not likely to find out in the next 13 months.

The walking gaffe machine has done it again. Joe Biden has been saying that if Barack Obama’s “Job’s Bill” is not passed; rapes will continue to rise in this country. He last made this statement in Flynt, MI. Anyone with a brain knows that Biden’s statement does not make any sense. The two issues are not connected in any way. That is like when I say that the last person I made coffee for is dead. You get the impression that they died from my making coffee. I last made coffee for someone in 1970. The person I am talking about died in 1984. The two events are not connected, but the statement is absolutely true. Biden’s statements are much like my coffee statement; they may be true on the surface but untrue when you look at the facts.

But the worst thing that happened was when a reporter questioned Biden in the hallway after he made those comments about rape. The reporter respectfully asked Biden if he truly thought the statement was true. Biden started to obfuscate his earlier statement. The reporter rephrased his question, again using respectful terms and tone. Biden starts to get upset. Biden’s handlers then say it is time to go. The last statement on the clip is the question from a handler on where the reporter is from. The reporter answers, “Current Events”. If that is not one of the most chilling statements ever made to a reporter, I have not heard one.

The reporter was doing his job. He was being respectful of the office of Vice-President. He just would not accept an answer that did not answer the question. At that point, the handlers realized that Biden was in trouble, so they terminated the questioning right then. That they were running away from questions is without doubt. It is obvious when you hear the tape of the incident.

The chilling question at the end was a not so veiled threat that the reporter will now feel some retribution for daring to question the Vice-President on his statements. That is the attitude of a police state, not America. In America, reporters are supposed to ask questions of our leaders. The job of a reporter is to hold the people who hold elective office accountable for their words and actions. This reporter was doing exactly that. Obviously the handlers of the Vice-President were not prepared for a reporter who was going to ask questions that held the Vice-President to account. The not-so-veiled threat to make the reporter feel some heat was un-American. The handlers should have thanked the reporter for holding their elected official accountable for his words.

Have we fallen so far in this country that it is now not acceptable to ask difficult questions of our elected officials? The elected officials are supposed to work for us. Since they work for us, they should be accountable to us. If they are accountable to us, we should be able to ask them pointed questions even if they do not like the question or the answer.

More reporters need to have the attitude that this Current Events reporter had when questioning Joe Biden. If that were the case, Obama would have a very difficult time trying to pull the wool over our eyes every time he brings out something new to destroy this country.

The Wall Street protesters are getting some of what they are advocating. They are advocating taking money from the “rich” and giving it to them. Well, someone thinks that they are the “rich” and has been taking laptops, money and other valuables. The protesters are upset. Those laptops are expensive. One lady said her Mac was worth $5,500. Welcome to how the people who earn money feel when they have it taken and given to those who do not earn it.

I hate to sound like I am gloating. Theft is wrong at any level. The person or people stealing the money and other valuables from these Wall Street protesters should be arrested and prosecuted. But, the irony is lost on these ignorant dunces that are protesting. They cannot see the irony between what they advocate and what is happening to them. These protesters are the children of the “rich”. They are the children of privilege. They have been taught by their Marxist professors that it is acceptable to take money from the evil “rich” and give it to the poor. The problem is that the term “rich” is never defined enough for them to understand that they are part of the rich. They identify themselves as part of the poor, but they in reality are part of the rich. So, when they advocate taking money from the “rich” and giving it to the poor, they are really saying to take their money and give it to people who will not work.

These Wall Street protesters that are college students are from the Ivy League schools. Ivy League schools are the most expensive schools in the country. Tuition at Harvard is quoted at $60,000/year. When you add the other required expenses that total goes up to $116,000. You either have to be rich, on scholarship or take out a loan to pay that kind of money. If you take out a loan for that huge tuition and fee payment, you have to expect that your income will put you well into the “rich” category or you will be in big trouble after graduation. By any definition, these student protesters are either now the “rich” or they expect to be the “rich” in the future. Their parents are most likely already part of that “rich” category they are protesting about.

But, the protesters do not protest against Progressives, communists, socialists and the like who make huge quantities of money. They only protest against those they perceive as being conservative. So, to this Wall Street Protest crowd, the only “rich” people are conservative people who make over $200,000 per year. When they took their march to demonstrate against the evil “rich” they went to every conservative in the area. They ignored the houses of every Progressive, socialist and communist who lived next to the evil conservative rich. That is definitely hypocrisy in action.

Also it has come out that the Wall Street Protesters have adopted Robin Hood as their mascot. What Robin Hood did and what these people advocate might sound the same, but they are completely different. Robin Hood took from individuals who had extorted it from the poor and gave it back to the poor. These Wall Street protesters want the government to take it from people who have done nothing wrong and give it to people who have not had anything taken away. Robin Hood may have been a scoundrel, but at least he had some justification in his actions. Robin Hood’s help went to those who were victims of oppression, not indigents. These protesters plan on taking from innocent people and giving it to people who refuse to help themselves, in other words indigents.

These Wall Street protesters are hypocrites at best. They are basically dishonest and selfish. You hear them talk about how terrible they have it, when a lot of people would love to have it that bad. The goals of the people leading the Wall Street protests are to be feared. If they have their way, the American way of life would end and we would become the Union of Soviet American States.

The Israeli’s made a trade for one of their soldiers who has been a prisoner of the Palestinians for the past five years. They traded 1027 Palestinian terrorists for the one Israeli soldier. On the surface it seems a bad trade. You trade over 1000 people who want to kill you for one of your people. But, that one person has value to your society and so you make the trade. It is the right thing to do, even if it puts the overall society in jeopardy.

I am reminded of a John Wayne movie where he was captured by the bad guys. Robert Mitchum had said he would never release the bad guy’s leader. But, he did so when offered his best friend, John Wayne, in trade. That was the right thing to do there, even though it meant breaking his word. In the movie, everything worked out well in the end. But that is the movies. In the case of this Israeli trade, the finish has not been written.

The value of an individual is paramount. What could that individual give to society is unknown at the present time. Only looking back can we judge the value of a human life and whether a trade like the Israeli’s made was the correct one? Looking forward, you have to base your judgment on whether that person or life has any value. To any Judeo/Christian society, every human life has value and should be protected at all costs. To socialist societies, a single human can be sacrificed because it is the common good that matters, not what is best for any individual.

Looking at other related issues, you can see this play out time and again. In abortion, those of us who value individual rights are pro-life. Those who value collective rights are pro-abortion. If you believe in individual rights you have to put the value on the individual. So, anything that interferes with the individual’s rights is bad. Anything that enhances an individual’s rights is good. To a socialist type, collective rights are paramount. Collective rights are like a cattle rancher. He will sacrifice the individual cow for the overall herd. The collective rights person will sacrifice the individual in an abortion, for the collective good. The individual takes second place in a collectivist society.

We are having a debate in America right now. One side is preaching individual rights and responsibility. The other side is preaching collective rights and no individual responsibility. To the uneducated, there seems to be little difference between the two. But, in practice there is a huge difference in the way the two sides implement their ideas. The one who believes in individual rights sets a high value there. Anything that interferes with the individual rights has to be weighed carefully. Someone that believes in individual rights will generally want smaller government and less control over what a person says and does. The collectivist wants maximum government control over every aspect of a person’s life. The reason they want the government to control everything is that they cannot trust people to make decisions that they think should be made. So, you get the government to limit the possible choices to things that you as the government deem acceptable. The individual gets crushed in this society as has been demonstrated time and again with collectivist governments all over the world.

The Israeli’s made the right choice in making their trade. I would hope that we in America would make a similar trade if called upon to do so. It is the right thing to do for the individual. Who knows what that individual will accomplish in his life? Maybe it is not his life that will benefit society, but a child of his will find something that will benefit society. The possibilities are endless on the good that can come from this trade for the Israeli’s. The Palestinians just got a bunch of killers and thugs in their midst. That never helps any society at any time. They lost in this trade no matter how many more people they received.

The Wall Street protesters are not making any sense at all. They are basically calling for a communist state and see no problem with it. But, ask them to tell you one country that has an economy that is structured like they are requesting and is better than ours and they would be unable to do so. There are no countries with a planned economy that are better than ours. Ours is not even a real capitalist society any more. The true capitalist society went away about 100 years ago when the Progressive movement took hold and tried to destroy America by small steps.

Today, we practice “Crony Capitalism”. Crony Capitalism is you make it based upon who you know rather than having the best mousetrap. GE is a great example of Crony Capitalism in action. They have not paid any taxes for at least the last 5 years, and I would venture that it has been longer than that. Why have they not paid any taxes for so long? The reason they do not pay any taxes is that they make huge campaign donations to politicians. The vast majority of GE’s donations are sent to Democrats, about 90-93%, maybe more. Jeffrey Emmelt sits as Obama’s Jobs Czar. Crony capitalism is killing this country. But it makes tons of money for politicians. That is why we will have a hard time reforming the system. Until we can wean politicians off of corporate money, we will have this problem. Of course the other problem compounding this issue is that we have professional politicians. Politicians were meant to be citizen politicians who held a job for a short time then went and lived under the laws they passed. We lost that a long time ago as well.

To solve all the so-called problems that the Wall Street protesters have would be to get government out of our lives. That would so reduce the cost of business that people would hire others. The protesters cry that we need a guaranteed living wage. That would destroy incentive in this country. What we need is government out of business and that would get full-time employment almost overnight. The vast sums businesses pay to meet government regulations could be spent growing their businesses and hiring new employees. We are only in this economic morass because there is too much government regulation.

The protesters are calling for a universal health system. That sounds great, until you look at the details. Every country with a universal health care system is going bankrupt. People get poor to no care at all instead of the universal care they were promised. You hear stories all the time of people being left in the hallway for long periods of time until they can find rooms for them. In the hallway, they get no nursing attention or doctor’s care. Many of those patients die before being given the care they deserve. Contrast that to America where everyone has access to the best health care system in the world. If you need surgery, you get surgery today or in a very short period of time. In a universal health care system, you wait months or years to get the same surgery. Many patients die before receiving the surgery. That helps to keep the costs down. Keeping costs down is always the goal of a government system. A private system exists to give the public what it wants.

If those protesters can find any country in the world that is better than the US, they should go there and enjoy the benefits of that country. If they cannot find a country that is better they should work to reform the system to make it better. They should not try and replace the system that has failed every time it has been tried since time began. The system they want is against human nature and will never work as long as there are human beings running it.

Congress got its act together and sent over some subpoena’s to the Attorney General’s office to get Eric Holder and others to come and testify. Just as those subpoenas were appearing at the Department of Justice, they discovered that Mexico had uncovered a plot to kill the Saudi Arabian Ambassador. Now, this plot was first uncovered in June and everyone in the Justice Department knew about it then, but they announced it now. It is just chance that it was at exactly the same time as the subpoena that was going to make Eric Holder come testify.

The plot to kill the Saudi Arabian Ambassador goes something like this: Two Iranian operatives came to Mexico to kill the Ambassador. One contacted a supposed member of a drug cartel and offered to pay him $1.5 million to bomb the Saudi Arabian and Israeli Embassy’s in the United States.

The big question is if they knew of this plot since June, why is the information coming out this week? I can see holding it for a couple of weeks to double check information. But if you are releasing all this information now, you could have released it then. What is so significant that you have to release it now and not last week or next month?

It is the same game that Bill Clinton used during his Presidency when he wanted to blunt bad information. When something bad was happening, Bill Clinton would release information that was positive or bomb someplace to create positive headlines. By doing that, the bad headlines would fall into the background and it would be as if they never happened, except the news junkies like me. The government controlled media would cover the diversion and not cover the news story. The same thing is happening today with this story of the plot to kill the Saudi Arabian Ambassador. The government controlled news media is completely ignoring the story of the subpoenas that are going over to the Justice Department and only covering the plot.

This diversion does not change any facts. The subpoenas are still on their way from Congress to Eric Holder over in the Justice Department. There is nothing he can do to stop them. One way or the other, he will be required to appear before Congress and answer questions. He can continue to lie and/or distort the truth or he can come clean and admit what actually happened. My guess is that he is a good soldier and he will continue to hide the truth. He will be the one to fall on his sword in order to protect the ones really responsible in the Obama administration. He will do that because Obama will most likely promise him a pardon if he does fall on his sword. That way justice will be thwarted.

Eric Holder is obviously guilty of many crimes involving Operation Fast and Furious. The only question is how many others were involved in making the decisions that resulted in the tremendous loss of life in the United States and Mexico. If Holder falls on his sword, we will never know the truth. If he tells what he knows, we will get to the bottom of the corruption that is Operation Fast and Furious. I do not look for that to happen because it is too rosy of a situation. Crooks and criminals like Eric Holder and those in the Obama White House have this code of “Dishonor” that requires some lower lever level person take the fall for their superiors. This is common to all criminal societies.

Operation Fast and Furious is becoming a bigger and bigger problem for the Obama administration. At first, they thought they could control the information to keep the operation in Arizona. But through testimony, memos and emails, the scandal has widened beyond Arizona to Washington. One reason it widened past Arizona is that they used wiretaps that had to be authorized at least at the assistant Attorney General level. That required that the investigation go to Washington.

Eric Holder, Attorney General, was questioned about his knowledge of Operation Fast and Furious. He stated that he became aware of the operation in the spring of 2011 after the lid blew off. Now, memos have been released showing that Eric Holder was briefed on Operation Fast and Furious in early 2010. Eric Holder still insists that he did not know of the operation until spring 2011. If that is possible, he either is incompetent because he was briefed and was supposed to know. If that is the case, he should be fired immediately for incompetence. If he is not incompetent, and I do not believe he is incompetent, then he is deliberately not telling Congress everything that he knows. If that is the case, he is committing perjury and should be convicted of a crime and put behind bars. Either way, he should be gone sooner, not later.

There is one other thing that is missing from the above statements. That is who authorized the Operation Fast and Furious. If you believe that Eric Holder or one of his minions authorized such a large misguided program, you have to be kidding me. Barack Obama has been talking about guns being sold to Mexico from America almost since he was elected. He was building a good case that there should be restrictions on what gun shops could sell to the public. Then, Fast and Furious blew up and the entire argument that Obama had been making was now egg on his face. If Obama was talking about guns being sold to Mexico, he must have had some knowledge of this operation. If he had some knowledge of this operation, he either authorized it or another person high up in the administration authorized it.

The people carrying out Operation Fast and Furious seemed to believe that the White House either authorized the program or knew about it. Nobody has said this, but reading between the lines and knowing how federal programs work, that is how it seems. I worked for the federal government for 20+ years. I know that nothing like Operation Fast and Furious would have been authorized and carried out by Arizona people. The authorization would have had to come from Washington. The people running it in Arizona would have to be assured that it was cleared up to the highest levels before they would have acted in a program so controversial as Operation Fast and Furious.

There are reports that many agents objected to the operation, but were assured it was authorized at the highest levels. I am not sure what that exactly means, but it has to mean someone above Eric Holder. Eric Holder strikes me as a soldier, not a leader. He has taken orders and carried them out successfully for Bill Clinton and now Barack Obama. He just does not seem to be the type of person who would stick his neck out and do something that might get his boss in hot water. That approval had to come from someone that Eric Holder assumed was operating for Barack Obama or he would not have carried it out.

The other thing to look at is why run Operation Fast and Furious at all? What were they trying to do that required the operation? The only thing that makes sense is that they were trying to restrict our second amendment rights. They were going to do that by proving that guns were being sold in America and transported across the border to Mexican Drug Cartels. Their justification would be that we have to restrict gun sales in the Border States and then other states to stop the flow of guns into Mexico. This all blew up in their faces before they could finish making the case.

We are not done with this Operation Fast and Furious. Some top level people will be fired or go to jail before the investigation is finished. My feeling is someone will fall on their sword at a high level to protect Barack Obama from the embarrassment of having authorized the program. When that happens, everyone will stop investigating and things will die down. The real culprit will get away, but that is the way things work in Washington.

Democrats are shameless. They are losing supporters so fast, a person cannot keep count. So, to stem the tide, Democrats will latch onto anything that gives them hope that they might stem the tide. Democrats are praising the Occupy Wall Street thugs as voicing concerns and doing what is right. The leaders of Occupy Wall Street are not so sure they want Democrats supporting them. They are afraid that if Democrats support them, then the Democrat Party will take over the Occupy Wall Street organization and their message, such that it is, will be lost. They are right to have that concern. Never trust an elected Democrat. That is a good rule to have unless that Democrat has proven that they can be trusted by supporting truth, liberty and our Republic.

Democrats are shamelessly showing up at the Occupy Wall Street events near them and expect to speak. But the organizers of the Occupy Wall Street events are not letting them speak. The Democrats then leave and come up with a story about them not having time to speak to the group. This happened to Rep. Lewis in Georgia. The entire episode was caught on video. Rep. Lewis is shown as shocked that he was not allowed to speak. His excuse later was just a way to cover his embarrassment.

Another thing is that these Occupy Wall Street events have become highly organized. At first, it was just a collection of people that showed up. There was no message and not much else. Now, the people are being treated to salmon dinners, which are very expensive. They enjoy multi-color newspapers. They have organized hand signals. The only thing missing from the planning is sanitation. The areas they occupy have become a cesspool. People urinate everywhere with no thought of others. People take dumps wherever they want and leave their waste for others to deal with. People have not lived in filth like this for hundreds, if not thousands of years. But, they are fed well. That means there is a lot of money supporting the protests.

Some of the people attending the protests are trying to recreate Woodstock from the 1960’s. There is free-love and lots of pot. It would be safe to say that the majority of the people at this event have no idea where they are most of the time due to drugs. I am sure there will be a lot of people that will regret attending this event when they contract diseases you can only get through sharing needles and having sex. But, that is for the future. The people there are not thinking of the future, they are only dealing with the present.

None of the reporting on the Occupy Wall Street events tells anyone about who is behind the protests. Stephen Lerner said that these events were going to happen back in June, 2011. There is a book called, “The Coming Insurrection”, that tells us exactly is going to happen and in what order. So far, things have turned out just like the book said it would. Stephen Lerner has also been proven right.

The main leaders of these protests are communists, socialists and anarchists. The unions are also there to lend their support. Union support is primarily in the way of providing people for the event. Once they got enough people there, the “useful idiots” came from the colleges in the area to fill out the crowds. Useful idiots are those being used by the organizers. The useful idiots would probably not support the goals of the organizers if they had any idea what those goals were. The term was coined by Lenin when talking about Soviet sympathizers in the west. When they would take over a country, the useful idiots were some of the first ones disposed of by the communists. That is because they get in the way of the more pragmatic leadership of the communist party.
