A View from Arizona

Bring from Arizona makes me a little insulated from the regular rough and tumble world of politics. Most of that I have to get on the internet. It is interesting to me to read about the corruption that people put up with in other parts of the country. We may have some here, but it is not as blatant as in New Jersey or the northeast portion of the country. A politician like Menendez would not last long here in Arizona. He would be strung up from the highest Saguaro cactus. The person that appointed him to the position would also be suspect and not long for politicianhood.

I am not saying we do not have corruption in Arizona. I am sure that it exists. But, to listen to what happens in New Jersey and most states in the northeast, my mind just explodes. The corruption here would be penny-ante stuff in that neck of the woods. We probably have some doing favors for one another, but only small potatoes in dollar amounts.

My congressman is one of the most honest congressmen in the House of Representatives. His name is Jeff Flake. He is so honest that the Democrat party doesn't even run a candidate against him. Of course a Democrat would not stand a chance in the election. A Libertarian would give Jeff a better run for his money than a Democrat. The district has to be one of the very most Republican districts in the country. I know it is the most Republican in the state of Arizona.

Our Senator Kyl is running for re-election this year. He has a Democrat running against him named Jim Pederson. Jim Pederson is worth about 25 times more than Jon Kyl. He is expecting to buy the election like they do in the Northeast portion of the country. He is finding it difficult. He is trying to paint Jon Kyl as dishonest. It would be easier to paint the Pope as dishonest. Jim Pederson is getting no traction. After running attack ads for a few weeks, he is further behind than he was before he started. Life is difficult for a liberal in a conservative state.

In a conservative state like Arizona, you have to paint yourself as a conservative. Janet Napolitano is good at that. She is a liberal, but can talk like a conservative without everyone falling down laughing. As a result, she is able to fool the marginally interested voters and put that with the Democrat voters to pull out election wins. It is difficult to get people to view her in her true light. She has successfully worked at getting herself identified at least as a moderate. She showed her true colors when she would not meet with President Bush on a visit to the state a few years ago. She was on vacation and could not be bothered to meet with the President. People have forgotten that incident. She can be beaten if she is forced to show her true colors. As long as she is allowed to put down a smoke screen, she will be almost impossible to defeat.

It looks like my congressional district will again return a Republican congressman. My state will return a Republican Senator. Unfortunately, my state will probably also return a Democrat Governor.

Name Calling

The Allen-Webb campaign in Virginia has to be one of the worst campaigns I have witnessed in my 58 years on the planet. They are more concerned with behavior and language of 30+ years ago than they are with issues of today. What someone's parents may be seems to also be more important than what the person running for office may be. This is all out of whack. Someone needs to insert some sanity into this campaign, or the whole country is going to go nuts.

I heard on the radio today that George Allen is being accused of using the "n" word as a racial epithet 30 years ago while at the University of Virginia. He has denied ever using the "n" word as a racial epithet. There are people who have heard from people who have heard that they heard that George Allen used the word. But nobody has come forward and said that he actually has done it. In fact, his teammates on the UVA team are rallying around him to support his contention that he has not used the "n" word as an epithet.

The Webb campaign has acknowledged that Webb has used the word. He said he has not used it as an epithet, but has used it. There are also reports from eyewitnesses that he and some ROTC buddies would go to Watts in LA to shout the "n" word at the local population and "shoot" them with fake guns. That is much worse than maybe using the "n" word as an epithet. I do not know if this is true, but the fact that it was told to the person reporting it by Jim Webb himself, gives it credence.

That George Allen will win the race now seems highly likely. I am not sure that Webb could recover from the report that he and some buddies harrassed black people in the 1970's. That is a positive for the Republicans. They need to hold on to all their Senate seats and pick up some Democrat ones to eliminate the Democrat problem of the filibuster.

The Democrat party is showing its colors as hate and envy. They are only capable of hate and envy in rallying their troops to oust Republicans. That cannot be a winning strategy. Republicans are trying to do things in these last few weeks to show the public that they can get things done the right way. That should help to bring out the Republican base. If the Republican base turns out and votes like it should, there will be no Democrat gains anywhere. It remains to be seen what happens. The latest legislation seems designed to bring out the base.

Clinton's Wag Your Finger

On Sunday, Bill Clinton wagged his finger in the face of Chris Wallace of Fox News. He was complaining that Chris was asking questions that sounded too much like the truth and he was having none of it. He even got away with trying to be intimidating. Liars that have many years of practice can be like that.

After the interview, the truth is starting to come out. Of course, Hitlery came out and defended her "husband". She could do nothing else. If she admitted that he is not telling the truth, her chance at being President goes out the window. If she defends him and then the truth comes out, she can claim that she was not told the truth. Either way she looks like a weak female that nobody would elect President. She cannot have that. Her only option is to defend him to the hilt and destroy anyone who dares to tell the truth about the 8 years Bill Clinton had to find Osama bin Laden.

Condeleeza Rice came out and said Bill Clinton's memory was not exactly correct. She cited actual reports in writing. Bill Clinton cited things he said people said, but they did not say. Bill Clinton also talked about Somalia when he should have been talking about the middle east. Either Bill Clinton was confused, or deliberately got his facts mixed up.

I prefer to believe that he deliberately got his facts mixed up because it fits my stereotype of him.  I am also being told by his supporters that Bill Clinton is so smart. He couldn't have been confused.

There is a cartoon today of Bill Clinton pointing his finger at Chris Wallace. There is a large finger and hand pointed at him with the caption, "history". That is so true. History will be the judge of what happened or did not happen. It is already painfully obvious that Bill Clinton was more concerned with internal things (his pants fly) than in external things like the world.

The more Bill Clinton brings the light of truth on the subject the worse he will look. He looked bad in the ABC movie. He looks bad in this interview. He will look bad in all the analysis after the fact. He should avoid the subject like the plague. Unfortunately, he has gotten himself into this jam of talking about the issue and it will not go away any time soon. Good!

Arizona's Senate Race

Arizona has a Senate race between our great Senator Jon Kyl and the former chairman of the Arizona Democratic party Jim Pederson. There is really no comparison.

Jim Pederson is a rich man. He has a net worth around 25 times that of Jon Kyl. I guess he thought he could buy a Senate seat in Arizona like they do back east in New Jersey and New York. He started with campaign signs on with a quote from Ted Kennedy, "No other senator, but ours". That meant that he was to be the senator for the eastern liberals. He ran his campaign like an eastern liberal at the start. He complained that he had received a tax cut that was more than most of us regular folk earn in two years. He said that was too much and that he would work to repeal the tax cut for the"rich". He, like all liberals, forget that all people want to be "rich". Even those the Democrats consider "rich" do not consider themselves rich.

When that campaign fell flat on its face, Jim Pederson tried to tell us what a terrible Senator, Jon Kyl is. Since all of us know that Jon Kyl is a great Senator, that campaign has fallen on deaf ears. The more Jim Pederson campaigns, the more he falls behind. If you listen to what Jim Pederson says and what Howard Dean says, you would be hard pressed to tell the difference. Jim Pederson is campaigning like an eastern liberal campaigning in an eastern liberal state. He is becominig a joke among the people who are even following his campaign.

You have the Democratic party kool-aid drinkers. They will only vote for a Democrat, no matter if it is a dog or a real person. That will probably be all that Jim Pederson will end up with as far as votes. I cannot imagine anyone with a brain voting for this guy.

Jon Kyl on the other hand is running a very intelligent campaign. He is letting Jim Pederson shoot himself in the foot and then standing out of the way while he tries to extracate himself from the problem. Jon Kyl's ads have been uplifting and positive. When Jon Kyl is interviewed on radio or television, he comes across as thoughtful and serious. When Jim Pederson is interviewed on radio or television, he comes across as nuts.

With a little over a month to go, it looks like Jon Kyl will take the Senate seat with I believe a 60-40 margin. Turnout will be key, but there are enough issues that will bring out conservative voters on the ballot that turnout should not be a problem.

Most Important Race

The most important race in the House or Senate is the US Senate race in Maryland by Michael Steele. He is running in a Democratically controlled state. He is also a person of color (black). That is important in that he will be the highest elected black Republican. It is important for the Republican party to have diversity of color and sex in Senators.

Michael Steele's opponent is a white male who defeated a black for the honor of facing Mr. Steele. That is posing a problem for the Democratic party. They are trying to get blacks to vote for a white male over a black. To do so, they are trying to paint Mr. Steele as something other than a true black. Nothing could be farther from the truth. Of course, the Democrats do not care much for the truth.

The race is important in that the seat is currently held by a Democrat. That would mean the seat would change from Democrat to Republican. That would help increase the Republican majority in the Senate. It would also get black voters in Maryland accustomed to voting for a Republican. That is an important step. Black voters generally avoid looking at a Republican to vote for like looking for the plague. This would show them that the world would not come to an end and they would actually get representation in the Senate.

A case can be made for other Senate races. I believe that this race is the most important because it means a change in the seat from Democrat to Republican and that it brings a black Republican into the Senate. Both of these are huge developments. Holding seats is important. Picking up seats is important. But, picking up a seat and having it change the demographics of the Senate is huge.

Michael Steele's web site is http://www.ontheissues.org/Senate/Michael_Steele.htm.  Michael Steele is a solid Republican and will go far in Republican leadership circles. He is charismatic and engaged as a politician. It would not be surprising to see Michael Steele in a Presidential contest some time down the line. He would probably be a Vice-Presidential candidate before being a Presidential candidate.

All this from a true westerner. I usually only concern myself with western races and western concerns, but this race is so important that I am taking notice from across the country. We need to give him all the support that we can.

Clinton Anger

There is an article on the Drudge Report about Bill Clinton being angry. He is reported to have said that he spent more time trying to capture Osama bin Laden than many from the right wing. That is a load of crock.

Bill Clinton was more concerned with servicing his male anatomy than he was about bin Laden. He was offerred Osama bin Laden on at least one occasion and probably more. He declined the opportunity as he did not have "legal" grounds to hold him. We had legal means, we just did not have the desire to hold him. He would have been a major prisoner and Bill Clinton did not want anything to interrupt his laisons with interns and other females. Anyone who received critically important phone calls while receiving a Lewinsky at the same time, was not serious about security.

Bill Clinton desperately wants to be known as a great President. He knows that he was a poor President, but wants to fool everyone living into believing that he was a great President. If he bluffs and blows up every time someone questions his administration's integrity, he might pull it off. I doubt that he will be effective in the long run. Nothing happened good on his watch and much happened bad. He set the table for the problems we are facing today and he knows it. He is afraid that other people will find  out and then his goose is cooked as a great President. It is too late for him to ever be considered great. He might some time be considered the second worst instead of the worst President, but I doubt that would ever happen.

There are too many Bill Clinton and women jokes for him to ever have a good legacy. He has to be fuming about that aspect of the problem. I do feel for the guy. He had a great opportunity and did nothing with it. He just occupied the President's chair for 8 years. He did not try to make something with it. That is a shame. He had a chance to be great and blew it. Others have done the same. Probably not to such a great extent, but still others have not reached their potential either.

Democrat Response to Chavez

The democrat party finally decided to respond to Hugo Chavez and his rant against President George W. Bush. When I first read Chavez's rant, I thought it was from a democrat. It took me a while to realize that Hugo Chavez was not a democrat congressman from Texas, but a head of the government of Venezuela.

I heard Charlie Rangel's complaint against Hugo Chavez on the radio today. He sounded apologetic and concerned for the feelings of Hugo Chavez. Then the words of Charlie Rangel were played from 2005 when he was railing against President Bush. He sounded remarkably like Hugo Chavez. I know that Hugo Chavez spoke in Spanish and we heard a translation, but the words were the same.

I think that the leaders of the democrat party are concerned that the public will notice that Hugo Chavez and the leader of Iran sound like them. To counter that feeling, they have to come out against the words of Hugo Chavez and the leader of Iran. In that way they can put some distance between their words and the words of obvious nut cases that lead Venezuela and Iran. My hope is that the American public will see through the charade that is being played out in front of their eyes.

Democrats do not respect President  Bush. The leaders of Venezuela and Iran do not respect President Bush. Democrats blame everything on President Bush. The leaders of Venezuela and Iran blame everything on President Bush. Democrats want to be in power. The leaders of Venezuela, Iran and terrorist groups want democrats in power in the US.

All of this points to one thing. For the sake of the United  States and her security, we must elect Republicans to the House and Senate in November. We cannot afford to have the democrat party in charge. They do not want to secure the borders. They do not want to kill our enemies. They want to give aid and comfort to those who want to kill us. We cannot allow that to happen. I hope that America wakes up between now and the election to vote Republican. I hope every contested election goes Republican and some safe democrat seats go Republican. That will insure the safety of the US for the next two years. Then we can concentrate on electing a Republican as President of the US in 2008.

UN Speeches

The world leaders have given their speeches at the UN. In listening to the speeches and reading reports about them, it is clear who is the world leader. There is one leader on the world stage that deserves the title of world leader. That person is George W. Bush. His talk at the UN was fantastic. He spoke directly to the various peoples of the world. If they had the chance to listen to him, they would have understood what a leader is and what a leader does. Unfortunately, it is unlikely that any of the words of George W. Bush were heard anywhere except for the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and England. Everywhere else they would have filtered the words at best.

The talks by the leaders of Iran and Columbia were particularly pathetic. They tried to sound like they knew where they were, but it was painfully obvious that they did not know what day it was and were unsure of even what continent they were on. I am not even sure they knew what planet they were on. Their remarks were so far from on the mark as to make the comments out of left field seem on target. Hugo Chavez is just a wack job that has a leadership post. He is not smart enough to hold onto it for long. If he holds onto it for very long, it will be because of the death squads working overtime.

Iran's President was his strident best. He hit all the nut job subjects he has been hitting on for the past six months. It is clear to anyone listing to him that he is at least a full deck shy of a deck of cards. The problem is that he is trying to get nuclear weapons and then the world has a major problem A nut case with nuclear weapons is a recipe for disaster. Diplomacy does not work with someone who is so far gone that he does not recognize reality in any way.

Right now the future of the world looks bleak with such poor subjects as leaders. We have so few leaders in leadership positions. That is why the 2008 election will be so important. It will be important to elect a leader to the Presidency in 2008. We cannot afford to elect a wannabe, like Hitlery Clinton.  We also cannot elect a wannabe like John McCain. He would be a disaster from the Republican side. It is critical that we vet the candidates and make a selection from the best.

Pope Cont.

Another day has passed and the Muslims have continued to call for death for the Pope for asking for a dialogue between Muslims and Christians. Muslims deliberately took the comments from the 14th century Emperor and the Persian intellectual. The Pope was not agreeing with the Emperor, he was just pointing out that questions about Muslims and conversions by the sword have been going on since Islam started.

Muslims love to point out that Islam is a religion of peace. But, every time someone says something that could possibly offend a Muslim, the Muslim world goes beserk and riots. People are killed and property is destroyed because Muslims get offended over something that would not offend anyone else. People are afraid to offend a Muslim because they know if the Muslim takes offense, the likely penalty for the offense is death. That inhibits discussion. If every time I say something you do not agree with, you try to kill me, I will stop trying to talk to you about the topic. Then, understanding goes out the window.

I remember when I was a student at the University of Northern Colorado. We had an LDS student group. Our student group made it a point to talk to other religious student groups. We had dialogue and even meetings with Jewish and other Christian groups. That fostered understanding between the groups. I do not think that anyone actually changed from one group to another because of the meetings, but that was not the point. The point was to help us all understand each other. That would allow us to work together on projects of mutual interest without any conflict.

Muslims do not want that kind of dialogue. They take the attitude that you are either Muslim or you should become one. If you do not want to become one, you should become dead. That is a rather simple understanding of the world. Most religions of 1000 years ago would probably agree with that type of arrangement. Most religions of today would not agree with that attitude. The difference is the understanding that it takes all people to help society to progress. Muslims do not have that understanding yet.

If you look at the progress of western societies, we have progressed in science and medicine and other cultural subjects. Muslim cultures are mired in a 10th century culture. In the 10th century, Muslim societies were some of the most advanced cultures in the world. They stopped advancing at that point and the west continued. The Islamo-fascists want us to go back to the 10th century. In the 10th century, women were second class citizens. They could not do much of anything without permission of their husband. Without a husband or father, they had no rights.. I cannot see women actually selecting that type of a lifestyle. I read recently that many women in the US are actually choosing to become Muslim. Why they want to be second class citizens, I will never know. I value the freedom of my wife and my daughters. I want it to continue. I will do all I can do to help them maintain their independence.

Pope's Comments

The Pope made some intellectual comments about Islam recently. In his comments, he quoted an Emperor from around 1400 writing to a Persian intellectual. In those comments the Emperor states that anything new that Muhammad has brought is evil because he advocates conversion by the sword, (or something similar to those remarks).

In response, Muslims reacted in typical Muslim fashion, they overreact. They have gone around burning down churches Catholic and non-catholic. They have killed Christians of any type. This confirms the statement by the emperor about Muslims. They have called for the death of the Pope. Some have called for the Pope to convert to Islam or die. Some have stated that they will roam the halls of the Vatican killing all who oppose them.

Put the shoe on the other foot for a moment and think about what would happen if a Muslim cleric made comments about Christianity and quoted a fourteenth century source. All heck would break out. Christians would not burn down Mosques. Christians would not find and kill Muslims. Christians would not call for death for the cleric. There would be no calls for assaults on Muslim strongholds. There may be a few upset people who wrote editorials, but little else. Are Christians weak? No, Christians have a sense of right and wrong. They believe that others are entitled to a belief, however wrong it may be.

Muslims believe that all who do not believe as they do should die. Christians believe that all who do not believe as they do should be taught the truth, so they may accept it on their own. That is the major difference between the two religions. One believes in tolerance and understanding. The other believes in intolerance and deliberate misunderstanding.

The fourteenth century Emperor was right on in his appraisal of Islam. What he saw of Islam in the fourteenth century is still true today. Of course, Islam has not tried to grow into the 21st century. It is still as it was in the 10th century. It is mired in the standards and guidelines of the 10th century. Christianity has grown into the 21st century. In fact, it is the impetus of Christianity that has brought us the 21st century itself. Western standards of conduct are basically Christian standards of conduct. In my opinion, that is for the best. People are more fairly treated where western standards are in place than any other set of standards in the world.

Global Warming

Al Gore's movie keeps coming up like yesterday's bad lunch. Everywhere I turn, I keep finding people who think that Al Gore's movie has something to say to the American public.

The science, if it can be said to be science, in the movie is seriously flawed at best. The claims are wildly innacurate. Statements that almost all scientists agree, are grossly innacurate. To go through the movie and point out the problems with the science would take many more column inches than this blog can devote. It would be much easier to point out the accurate scientific comments. There must be some accurate scientific comments. I haven't seen the movie so I cannot give an accurate account of the accurate comments. I can only comment on the written comments published in support of Al Gore's movie.

The movie is nothing more than a deliberate campaign to scare people into believing a falsehood. If he can get you to believe the fallicy of Global Warming and that it is all America's fault, then he can also get you to support him for President. The movie, as far as I can tell from the outside is a campaign commercial that someone figured out how to get people to pay for. The campaign advisor that devised this strategy is worth whatever money they are paying him/her. To get people to pay for a campaign commercial is great. They would be contributing to your campaign without adding to the campaign limits.

I for one am not buying Al Gore's campaign commercial. The science is flawed. Only the easily duped will believe the hype in the movie. The easily duped will not question the obviously false statements made in the movie. Movie goers are trained not to question what they see in a movie. The movie is supposed to stand on its own. False statements are shrugged off because they are part of the movie. If made to a person's face, they would question the validity of the statement. Made in a movie and they believe it. The good point for the truth. Those that are easily duped, usually do not vote. Voters are usually more thoughtful.

Substance over Style

It is election season. The primary season is over. Here in Arizona, we have a person in Len Munsil who has never held elective office running for Governor against a sitting Governor. He has spent the past few months talking about what he would do during his term of office to help Arizona. Our current occupent has spent her time working on photo ops and position papers. She is style over substance. She is all fluff. There is nothing behind the fluff you see.

We will see in this election if Arizona wants someone who is serious running the state, or do we want more fluff. Our current occupent has spent the past four years looking for ways to make herself look like she is doing something. She is vetoing important legislation. She has vetoed more legislation than any Governor in the history of the state. She has blocked progress in many different ways. In meeting the requirements of English immersion, she cost us a million dollars a day, until a judge felt pity on her. She blamed it on the legislature, but she vetoed three bills that would have met the requirements.

Len Munsil has been talking about what he would do for Arizona. Now, I do not agree with everything he would do for the state, but at least he would be leading. Our current Governor has her finger in the air to find out which way the winds are blowing. When she finds out which way everyone is traveling, she gets in front and says she is leading. Len Munsil is a leader. He will lead by example. He has led by example during the primary season. When his opponent tried dirty tricks, he confronted it and diffused the issue immediately. That is a leader in action.

During these times, we need leaders at all levels of government. My current representative in the House is Jeff Flake. He is definitely a leader. He stakes out his position and agree or disagree, he sticks with it. We have one Senator in Jon Kyl that is like that. He is a leader. He works hard to find the best positions for the United States. He then defends them against all comers. Unfortunately, I cannot say that about my other Senator, John McCain. McCain is like our governor, he tries to find where everyone is going and the positions himself in the lead and declares himself the leader. He thinks he might become President. I will not vote for him in any primary. I want a leader for President. I do not want a follower.

Substance is important in a person running for office. They need to be one that will actually do what they say they will do. My parents did not like Ronald Reagan. But, they did say that he always did what he said he would do. We need more people like that in government. We should look for and elect more such people now. Too many people in Washington are not the type that can lead. They may be in leadership, but are incapable of leadership.

Voting

Voting is the responsibility of all citizens. In a Presidential election, only about 55% take that responsibility seriously. In a primary election, that number can go down to as low as 20%.

I could first vote when I turned 21 in 1969. I have voted in every single election since that time in every place I have ever lived. That includes bond elections, school board elections, primary elections, etc. My parents instilled the importance of voting in me as a child and I have taken that responsibility seriously. It has meant keeping myself up on the issues of the day nationally and locally. I have to know the people running for office and where they stand on the issues. I do not know them personally, but I know what they stand for.

I have taken my children with me when I voted. That has helped them understand the importance of the responsibility. I am not sure how many vote in every electon, but I do know they vote in the ones for the state and national offices. I am thankful for my wife that she has supported me in this effort. She has not placed quite as high a value on voting, but she has been there almost all of the time. She has missed two or three votes in the 34 years we have been married. That is a good record.

I do not understand why people do not place a high value on selecting the people who will lead their city, state and nation. Who they select can have an impact on what happens to them and their property. It is of extreme importance to pick people who value the great american value system. Those people will keep this country free. Right now, there is only one party that supports that value system. There used to be two parties that supported the value system and you had to select the best person. Now you select the best party. That party is the Republican party. I will vote Republican until the democrat party starts to incorporate american values into their platform and belief system.

Remembering 9/11

Five years ago this morning, I was working on the computer. My son called to me to turn on the TV. I turned it on to see one tower burning. I watched closely and saw the second plane strike the tower shortly thereafter. As a result, my world changed forever.

I am not sure that everyone had their world changed that day, but they should have. We had been asleep at the switch. Bill Clinton had us believing that terrorism was a police action. George W. Bush was following Bill Clinton's lead those first few months. The US changed from a peace time world to a war time world. We are now a nation at war. We should act like a nation at war. We act like we are at peace and nobody else is around.

For me the rest of 9-11-2001 was spent in some sort of shock. I was glued to the news. I had to teach a Biology class that evening at South Mountain Community College. It was difficult to teach the class that night. I wanted to talk about the significance of the events of the day. I had to talk about biology. My students were in some sort of shock over the events and needed to talk, but we were there to talk about biology. We did both. We talked about biology, then talked about the importance of the day with anyone who wanted to stay.  It was a a tough class to teach. The material was not difficult to teach. The significance of the events of the day overshadowed the importance of biology.

Now, five years later, I am still teaching biology. Everyone is over the psychological impact of that day. We should be mentally prepared for the events that will be coming up in the future. I am afraid that manyin the US are not. Liberals are not sincere or even interested in security for our country. They are only inerested in getting President Bush out of office. Trying to talk to a liberal about the threat to this country is like talking to a wall. You can talk all you want, but you do not change many minds.

I hope that five years will see a resolution of some of the issues we are facing today. Terrorism will most likely still be a big issue. But, Iraq might be a democracy. Iran might not have nuclear weapons. Congress will hopefully still be in Republican hands. Our next Republican President will be readying his re-election against the democrat challenger. This is not to say things are perfect, just that I hope they stay on the same track they are on today.

Kudos for ABC

It looks like ABC will show its special, "The Path to 9/11". That is great. It will give people a chance to see our enemy for what they are. We are getting our view of the enemy filtered through the glass of the main stream media. They believe we are in the wrong and the terrorist is in the right. That means they distort the real terrorist.

Getting a new and largely undistorted view of the enemy will do wonders for the American people. There should be a new support for the United  States. That will help those candidates who actually support the US. Those candidates that are critical of the US will suffer from the exposure of the terrorist. The candidates that are critical of the US are really supporting the terrorists and anyone who sees the terrorists for who they are will understand that.

I do not expect the unity that we had after 9/11. That would probably be more than anyone could expect. It has been too long to expect that unity again, but more than the current level would be nice. Even a swing of say 5% would make a tremendous difference in the congressional races around the country.

I can hardly wait for the ABC special to air here in the US. It will be interesting to see the fallout from the program. I am sure democrats will run for the tall weeds and the Republicans will stake out the high ground. That is as it should be. It will then be up to the voting public to determine if they want the rats in the weeds or the giants on the hill. It will be their choice. I have made mine for the primary. I voted for Len Munsil for Governor, Jeff Flake for Congress and Jon Kyl for Senate. Those three will give Arizona and the US what we need.

Today is the first day of football season for the Denver Broncos. They will defeat the St. Louis Rams today, 31-10.
